The food here is outstanding, and the bring your own booze with no charge makes it one of the best and cheapest places to eat in the area.

I've been a visitor to this restaurant for many years,; since it opened in fact.
It's a balti / curry house where the food is mainly cooked on a wok stove right in front of you. I've visited the additional kitchen at the rear and it was also clean & tidy.
The place is a bit sparse, minimal decor, but the food is very good. They offer a wide choice of dishes (too many to list) which they offer to cook mild, medium or hot (and hot means
HOT). Starters and main courses only. Presentation is simple.
Soft drinks are sold but it's a BYO. There's no corkage charge and a Tesco ministore 2 minutes-walk away where you can buy alcohol.
Service is friendly and fairly fast: remarkable seeing how busy this place sometimes gets.
Not very atmospheric for a romantic twosome but great for when you want something tasty or for parties where you create your own noise.
Typical prices for 2 people for starters, main course, vegetable & breads around £18-22 but you can get a Thali meal for much less.
Highly recommended.

One of the best Indian restaurants in London. My husband and I go there for a take away treat. The staff are always very pleasant and we like the idea of the open plan kitchen. The food always tastes very fresh and is well spiced. We would highly recommend the the Lamb Rogan Josh and the Chicken Saag, which is what we usually order, along with a veg dish and a dalh. We have never yet been disappointed in the 8/9 years that we have been visiting the (basic) cafe style restaurant. Just one downside the toilets do leave a little to be desired... Overall though excellent Indian food!

The food is good, and the 2004 comment about it being bland is incorrect, unless you choose a relatively bland dish like a Pasanda.
However, the atmosphere is not memorable. There is no music, laughter or any real ambience, so is not really a vanue which would be recommended for a special occasion.

Fresh tasting food in a clean, but no-frills environment. Good value. Ginger Chicken recommended.

Outstanding food in a pleasant environment supplied by a friendly staff. Prompt service and courtesy of staff go a long way to making this one of the top Balti restuarants in the UK
