An excellent and enjoyable place for Japanese. Some may wonder why Polish for Japanese but you will get an answer to it as soon as you try Kotlet Mielony which is very similar to a Humberg steak served in Japan. Service is good and prices are reasonable. I would recommend this place to all Japanese who live and work in London

Lets be honest. Unless you are Polish, in which case you might argue otherwise out of national pride, no one can honestly say that the food at Stara Polska is going to blow your mind. Of all the culinary experiences in London that one can opt for, this is going to leave you crying out for some fresh herbs, aromatics, frankly some taste. The food can only be described as something slightly better than bland. You go here for the cosy atmosphere, the excellent Polish beers and so that you can say you have been here. Not for the food.
I went with a group of work colleagues and we had a great time knocking back beers and shots but the potato cake with goulash was forgettable. We did not have any of the perogi to start with which was a shame as I had heard that they are worthwhile. Some liked their dishes, some described them as 'alright' but I suspect that they were just being polite.
Overall, however, I would not go again but I would add that it is a good place to go with a group of friends etc, it is pretty good value and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Me first Polish experience! I love the stodginess and heartiness of this cuisine; the soups were delicious and unmitigated. The bigos was a meal unto itself worth going back for. Go for the traditional Polish as opposed to the 'other dishes'; poor rendition of Modern European! However, to die for is the poppy seed cake; for yours truly who normally forsakes pudding for the cheese board, I'm thus converted. Re-review within a month. Welcome Polska!

I went there with 7 friends for my birthday, I wanted them to discover Polish food. We tried most of the menu and everything was great. Simple but really good, it felt like going back to Poland for the duration of the meal.
I recommend to have a try at everything (in several times of course!) and particularly keep space for dessert and have the poppy seed cake, divine!
The waiters were very very nice (cannot emphasize this more) and very good at explaining what everything was.
We had quite a few drinks with a three-course meal and the grand total was around £20 each, really good value.
And the atmosphere is really great, with original decoration and true polish music in the background.
REAL Polish, REALLY Nice, STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT ! Smacznego

A cosy restaurant with nice decor and very pleasant service. The dishes were generous and tasty. An oasis of unpretentiousness in an otherwise largely 'theme park' neighbourhood.
