Wasabi (The O2)

This is the worst Wasabi I have ever been to.
Its massively overpriced.
In any other Wasabi I have been to: both of the Oxford Street branches, Embankment etc, the Salmon Nigiri (for example) is priced at 2 for £1 yet the Wasabi in the o2 is something ridiculous like 2 for £3.60.
Its unjustifiable when the standard is so poor in comparison to the other branches.
The sushi is dry and seems like its been hanging around for hours. Also, they cut the Salmon really thin (obviously to increase even more on their profit margins)
The hot take away food is HORRENDOUS. bland, too much rice and they microwave it- not sure if that would comply with health and safety regulations considering there is chicken is the dishes.
Living in the South East on London, I dont have many options when it comes to getting sushi locally, but I have found a Japanese restaurant in Catford called Sapporo Ichiban, all the food there is very fresh, although still quite expensive, but they get all of my custom now, so I reccomend that.
Eat at o2 Wasabi at your own risk and stupidity.

wish i'd read these reviews before we went here.
we wanted a change from thai silk, nando's and pizza so thought we'd try something different. just goes to show "better the devil you know" is a very under-rated phrase.
we went when they had the buffet on. given the price of individual dishes we thought this might be a good option. what they failed to tell us - until after we'd ordered and had started the meal - was that due to a "very busy day" half the items were finished and NOT due to be re-stocked. they did offer to make up some nigiri for us, but the omlette had a distinct fishy taste, suggesting kitchen hygiene was not top of their priorities!
tried to complain but met with blank looks and repeats of "very busy day". still charged full rate. complained as much as I could but thought I would email their head office. is it coincidence that their website is under review and i cannot find a link to complaints? found an "info" link, so thats gonna feel my wrath!
i will repeat the others....DONT EAT HERE. It will only disappoint.

All previous reviews are accurate in my experience. An appalling restaurant. How it manages to be in a venue like the O2 i will never know.
My advice is stay well clear of this awful establishment. Hopefully the 02 will see sense soon and shut this place down.

worst place i have eaten they try and justify the small minute portions when there isnt one they also tried to justify why my chicken yakisoba (which i have at least once a week for lunch) was completely different in the noodles used and the taste when cooked for those eating in, to what you get taking away.
this place makes the rules up as they go along. will not be going here again, left hungry with a lighter wallet and my tastebuds left a lot to be desired.
do not eat in.

I went there for takeaway. The staff is not well trained, rude and know nothing about japanese food. After the long wait (although there is only a handful of customers), the staff couldn't even pack the sushi properly, the sushi were smashed by the cover of the container. I didn't check the bill before I left the restaurant, I was overcharged. Don't go to the outlet at O2 arena!

Dreadful!
Overpriced, filthy, and staff that are rude and incompetant. Previous reviews are spot on!
How this restaurant can operate in a high profile venue like The 02 i will never know.

I love Wasabi and I think it is really good. However, the O2 Wasabi must be the worst food (and perhaps dangerous) I ever came across. Be careful with what you eat there and if you can, try to avoid eating there.
Food that should be hot is displayed cold - they microwaved though.
Food seems to be on display for hours....I mean hours....Be CAREFUL!
As somebody that works in Canary Wharf, I thought the food would be the same as there is Wasabi in Canary Wharf too. What a dissappointment! I am now planning to contact the head office and get my money back! The containers to take away are smaller than normal ones around the chain and they charge you a fortune.
I am soo dissappointed!!!! where is the minus in the rating?

Overpriced for what is essentially very poor quality sushi.
Some of the fish on the conveyor looked like it had been on there several hours and did not look particularly nice.
Not the best sushi restaurant i have been to.

Whilst my experience at Wasabi was not as bad as the reviewer below. I have to say the staff do need a little more training. They were very disorganised and many didn't appear to know quite what they were doing. Many of the staff's English is pretty poor which makes communication difficult and leads to a tendacy to both staff and customers becoming frustrated.
The food was average, not great but not bad either. It could do with a little more range on the menu. My one big complaint would be that they charge far more in the O2 than they do in other Wasabi restaurants i have visited.

Without doubt the worst experience in a restaurant i have ever had in my life.
I arrived on a Friday evening with my wife and two children at seven o clock. On entering the restaurant we were ignored by staff and after waiting a good ten minutes to be seated, took the intiative ourselves and seated ourselves at four vacant seats at the conveyor. Before we could even get our jackets off we were shouted at by a particlaury obnoxious female member of staff to "get up" and that "these seats not available". I said that they looked available to me and was told that due to staff shortages that night they could only sit so many at the belt and that despite the vacant seats we would have to wait. Had it not been for the fact that we promised our children sushi that night and that they were really looking forward to trying it we would have left there and then.
20 mins later we were finally seated off the belt at a small table near the door and told we would need to take the plates from the belt and bring them ourselves to the table. Not only was this bad enough but three people then arrived that were clearly friends of the member of staff that had refused to let us sit at the belt and they were immediately seated in our original seats, laughing and joking with her as they did so!!
On seeing this i immediately challenged a member of staff who said those seats were reserved. I said that we had been given a completely different explanation before and that i wanted to speak with the manager. I was told by her in no uncertain terms "I am the area manager, you don't like you can leave!"
We did just that and left.
The final insult was that she then tried to charge us for the drinks we had ordered and so far not received. I refused to pay and we left with the obnoxious staff member/area manager insisting "you don't come back here!".
I can't comment on the food as we never got that far (after 45 mins in the restaurant) but the service went beyond poor, it was downright insulting and offensive. The next day i emailed a full account of the evening to the Wasabi main office and got no response at all, not even an acknowldegent.
My advice, unless you want your evening ruined and enjoy being insulted then avoid this place like the plague.
