Vijaya Krishna

I went there on Friday evening with a friend, having read the extremely possitive reviews. We were not disappointed - the Prawn Puri's for starters were fantastic and both main dishes were excellent for the very reasonable price. The service was also excellent, the waiter seemed genuinely converned that our Lamb Jalfrazi might be too hot (it wasn't).
There is some 'interesing' art work on the walls but this does not detract from the excellent food.
It is a shame Tooting doesn't offer many pre curry drink options.
Fully recommended.

I agree with all these reviews. A friend took me to her favourite restuarant in Brick Lane but Vijaya Krishna beats it easily. Definitely best in Tooting, Shree Khrishna gets all the press but he Vijaya is much better. Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and very reasonably priced. I haven't had a better Indian meal without paying about 20 quid a head more (apart from when i was in Kerala of course!). Starters are great, especially the beetroot Dosai. We ordered it once by mistake and now order it every time we go.

Best curry house in London, certainly the best in Tooting and I am happy that it never seems to appear in the paper reviews as it means we can always get a table even on a Saturday night!.
The starters are excellent. My partner and I always share a meat filled dosai (pancake filled with mince) and the prawn and lentil cakes.
The mains are also excellent, particularly the green masala and the chicken methi which is as nice a tasting curry as I have ever come across.

Over the last few years some friends and I have eaten in every Indian restaurant in Tooting and this is the best.
The food is outstanding. Authentic Kerala cuisine made with expertise and passion.
The staff are always friendly, attentive and discreet.
I eat here once a week and will continue to.

This is my favourite Tooting restaurant. The food is always exceptional: fantastic tastes, fresh spices and no fatty, full feeling post meal! The service is excellent and the vibe is chilled, usually on the quiet side. Outstanding value for money.
Great first courses esp. enjoy the 'paper ghee dosai.' (Wheat-free!)

I dont have a bad word to say about this restuarant. The food is great, service is fantastic, and prices are affordable! I reccommend trying the meat dosai's they are to die for.
