Absolutely sound consistently excellent 'Indian' and South indian cooking at very good value prices. Pleasent service by the same people every time..
Superb Tandoori, great Dhals., Lamb Biriyani my current favourite, wife prefers Chicken Tikka. All breads are first class and worth the visit alone.. The South Indian dishes are not to our taste. I do know they have a very popular outside catering side for weddings etc.
As of March 18 2011 we have been coming here for 30 years with friends and family. Yes it has been redecorated in that time! Much bigger than it looks. Dont pass by thinking it is closed... its just not a lit up place. Not a place to impress a first date by the way., ie not flash or with quiet corners etc.
Friendly atmosphere and some nights it can seem like a party as tables talk to each other. The residents are becoming upmarket so Geetas may be rediscovered!

I love Geeta's. The Willesden Lane location is unpromising and the frontage is definitely not going to win the architect any awards. A harsh critic may say that the decor is a little dated. But the food is very good and unbelievably cheap and the staff are as pleasant and welcoming as you could hope for.
I'd recommend the rasam soup - very hot and spicy. The dosai are really not to be missed. The vegetarian mains are good - I believe this place originally opened as a vegetarian restaurant about thirty years ago. Breads are all great. If there's a weak spot then it's probably the tandoori meat which is a little dry. I'm not saying it's haute cuisine but I've had no real duds in many visits.
Value for money is simply incredible.

All the food is very good - and the many house specialiites are delightful.
Ther is an interesting range of starters and home made sundries and sweets - eg the kulfi ice cream and the wonderful mango lassi.
A friendly and charming family-run restaurant where the food is always fresh and interesting.
Superb value for money. Service at 10% is normally added to the bill which somehow always seems smaller than expected!
Highly recommended - but don't go there for the ambience - the rooms are plain and a little uninspiring.

A very long established South Indian restaurant (25yrs?) with many long serving regulars who can come from miles away to eat here. Also the owners/staff the same for years which makes for a nice continuity and pleasent athmosphere.. A happy place. it is also much larger than it looks with several rooms.
Not expensive! It is wonderfully clean , and looked after. Do not be put off by the location or outside appearence.
Home cooked family cooking of the highest quality and integrity.
Tandoori, Lamb biryani, chicken tikka etc are all wonderful as are the breads, Dosas and chutneys. Vegetarian choices . Some of the South Indian dishes are not to our liking.
Indian home cooking I have is often not as good as this, in my experience.
Highly recommended!

Great value, delicious, fresh tasting food every time. The Masala Dosa is particularly good. If you stick with the authentic south indian vegetarian dishes you can't be disappointed - fantastic.
