Ram’s Pure Vegetarian Surti Cuisine

The food at Rams has always been excellent. They take such care in what they serve to their customers. The waiters are very friendly and very engaging, and always try to make your time there a pleasant experience. Every time I eat at Rams I am glad I have done so. I would recommend it to anyone.

Ate here on a tuesday night, staff outnumbered dinners 2-1. service was friendly and attentive. food was good, and reasonably priced. i've had much better indian vegetarian food, for example round the corner at Lahore, but i'd definately go back as the menu is quite extensive and i'd like to try more dishes. I had an aubergine dish, paneer masala, channa aloo and a daal - all of which i would give 6/10. The paratha's were delicious - 8/10. The poppadom's were the ones that stick in your teeth (the roasted rather than fried variety).

I have been going to this restaurant for a few years on and off. I have always thought that the food is very good. It does not offer fine dining, so I have never expected it. I have always appreciated it for what it is. I also believe that the other reviewers need to eat out at some of ther other restaurants and then compare Rams. I have been to many restaurants and have often been disappointed.

We go to Ram's a few times a year and are never disappointed.The food is fantastic and freshly cooked.I can't understand some of the other reviews where people are complaining about wait times.My advice is go a bit earlier if you're dining on one of the busy days, like saturday. If you pitch up at 9 o'clock there is bound to be a bit of a wait as it's a peak time.The same rule holds for many other thing - buses, trains and airplanes. The lesson?if you don't like a crush then go off peak!

the food was terrible and way over priced. we went there for the first time to try the food out it you want to do the same thing dont! however the service was good. i would never go there again.

My review is more positive then the last one. I booked a for a group of 12 with kids on the day we were going with no problems. When we arrived the place was empty but soon packed out. The waiters were brillant as they advised us what the kids could eat, that wasn't spicy for them and they had chips as well just in case. The food came in good intervals and the only complaint we had for them was their Veg Birani was awful, but all the rest of the food was really nice. I wil definatley go again.

Having briefly read the reviews I can only conclude that this restaurant is inconsistent in its offering. We went as a party of 8. We waited 45 minutes past our booking time and were crammed in near the entrance. It took us a further 45 minutes just to receive water which was requested for on at least 10 occasions. When our ordered meal eventually turned up it was missing items that we were eventually told the kitchen had run out of. They should have told us in time to order alternatives. When we did order alternatives these arrived after another 45 minutes or so and the items were too salty rendering them inedible. Our bill included items that we never received. The food was awful and the service was the worst that I have experienced in years. I eat all over the world and have experienced restaurants at the very top end down to very simple ones but without a doubt this was one of my worst experiences and my fellow partygoers are of the same view. This restaurant features in many negative jokes in my circle today none cracked by me I hasten to add. What made it worse is that the owner's son lied to me on many occasions during the complaint resolution phase. I must say though in the restaurant's defence that other diners seemed to be having a good time and this leads me back to my view that this restaurant must be inconsistent in its offering. Good luck to those who enjoy it but others like me who had such bad experiences should simply go elsewhere.

The food is fantastic at Rams, and the waiters really seem to care what is going on. This is a no frill approach. I have been to a lot of restaurants, and many establishments in Central London charge the earth for less quality and less quantity, and simply dress it up. Unfortunately, if a restauarnt is busy, as this restaurant seems to be very often, people have to wait, even if you have booked. It seems that the previous reviewer (Pryia-I think) feels she has a God-given right to just walk in to a restaurant and just get her table, and having to wait a bit is expected if the restaurant is busy (2 hours is just BS-talk). As I said, I have been to Rams many times and they have custmers from a wide background. I have never been disappointed. If things do go wrong they do hold their hands up and try their best to resolve the issues as much as possible.

Very disappointing, I feel that the reviews are overstated.

First opinions are a cramped, 3 star service which is poorly organised, 2 people at the door take bookings, although they do not seem to communicate to each other, about the people waiting outside. Waiting times are ridiculous particularly on weekends waited 2 hrs for a place after making prior booking arrangements. They also take personal preference as to whom they seat 1st. Would not recommend.
