Hand and Flowers

I have been going to the restaurant at least twice per month for the last 3 years, last night was a circus and one of the worst experiences I have ever had in a restaurant.

Booked a table for my wifes birthday on 23 February for 6.00 pm.

Arrived at the restaurant with other guests told we had to have finished by 7.45!

Ordered Champayne - which was delivered after 30 minutes!

The Champayne was not chilled. Told they were having problem with the fridge!

Crispy duck was delivered cold!

Complained so they took away - It came back rubbery and inedible!

Food took 45 minutes to arrive after starters then the manager told us our time was finished!

Penang Curry was also cold and the prawns were overcooked and like rubber!

The bill arrived and was overcharged by £45.00 for items that were ordered but not delivered!

Complained to the manager and was told "I apologise but there nothing I can do about it".!

A waitress who knew me apologised and said they had a new chef who had just started that night. It wasn't just the chef at fault he didn't screw up my booking, fail to chill the wine then overcharge the bill!

I will never go back again

Used to regularly visit JT's on trips to watch Chelsea & loved it !! Booked for yeasterday in ealy October & was devastated to find it had change to the Hand & Flower ! Needn't have worried !! Much brighhter & (dare I say) cleaner looking - although I loved the Bazaar JT's had. Food excellent quality - although menu limited & no coconut rice for my rendang - although there was a promise on the 'special match day' menu that normal service would be resumed after tempoprary 'difficulties' sorted out. We did think the portions were smaller - but very tasty.

All the staff just as lovely & the whole experience most enjoyable.

Not only that - but Chelsea won 6 - 0 !!

This will remain our regular lunch venue for the days we are able to get to Stamford Bridge from Norwich.
