Interesting that I would look up this restaurant and find the comments from the other person from australia who had a similar experience. I went to this restaurant with a group of 15. No matter what , the waiter would have made money on us but when 2 of the people in the group only wanted appetizers he went into a speech about how his restaurant was a fine dinning establishment and they had to order mains. We finished our meals and left without leaving any tip. I also provided the feedback to the waiter (who may have been the owner) that what determines if a restaurant is a fine dining establishment is the customer and not the owner, and that a fine dining establishment's staff would never speak to clients in such a way. Worst restaurant experience EVER. The food was quite good but unfortunately the waiter/owner couldn't keep his terrible atitude and service hidden.

I, along with two friends from Australia, had the misfortune to visit this restaurant last night. It was the only restaurant open near the hotel where we were staying, and judging from the new world accents and tired faces around us a lot of traffic here was precisely in our predicament, having recently landed, staying in nearby hotels and being sleep-deprived enough to venture into this hovel.

I wasn't as hungry as my companions and asked for an entree as a main - to which I was told that I must order a main if I were to dine here! After some argument - I conceded and ordered a main-size bruschetta.

The pre-dinner nibbles consisted of some stale attempts at ciabatta bread and tasteless supermarket brand olives as well as some contents of a jar of giardinera pickle - opened last week, judging by the fleas.

The first wine we wanted wasn't available, nor the second - the third attempt was finally succesful.

The mains arrived - they were edible, surprisingly. This was the highlight of the evening.

The waiter was extremely rude throughout - and quite aggressive at times. We didn't want coffee or dessert, which seemed to rile him to the point of shoving things around on our table as he cleared, the earlier incident of mains/entree was quite uncomfortable, and he was absolutely uninterested in tending to our needs, like refilling our water, or asking after our meals. Most bizarelly - he kept on correcting my companion's English!

We tipped 25p, at the time, as a joke - but in hindsight, 25p too much. Avoid at all costs!

my boyfriend and i went at D.Jan's a week ago as we were on holiday.although the restaurant was very busy at the time, we received a very welcoming and efficient service. We really enjoyed the wide selection of wines and, being italian ourselves and therefore sceptic, were positively impressed with the quality and variety of food.we're looking forward to visiting this restaurant in our next trip to london! ciao ciao gina & janne

Pete and I have been going to this restaurant for nearly 9 years. We have always found the food excellent as well as the service. The owner D'jan has always been a joy to meet and I have to disagree strongly with the two reviews shown here.

Each to his own I suppose! We were there for Valentine's last night and the place was packed!

Excellent food, service and location.

We went on Valentines night,s not really the right place as lots of big parties of people rather than couples and very bright but definetly somewhere to go for great food with a group of friends.

After eating at two excellent restaurants (Kazan and Millbank Spice) in the Victoria area, we had the misfortune to end at up at this restaurant on the third day of our stay in London. The waiter was rude and crude enough to the point of embarrassing us in front of all people in the restaurant. The food was at best average - and it in no way made up for the roughness of the waiter. When the bill came my decision not to tip was pre-empted by an already included service charge. We will never set foot in this place ever again.
