I had the £4.00 vegetarian lunch, it was amazing, the best curry that I have ever tasted. The aubergine curry was to die for.
As Tooting is a long way from North Wales PLEASE publish a cookery book of your recipes.

The Jaffna house, have coming to this place for a long time and truly love the place .Yes as other reviewers mention, the service can be a little patchy.I have travelled in india and Sri Lanka and the secret is never be in a hurry and take the subtle hints,if the waiter suggests that maybe you might prefer something else it really means they don't have it..So often we expect things to be a certain european way and can get agitated if its not , RELAX and you might realise the waiter is actually really helpful.Try the mutton roll starters, the devil mutton, the carrot sambal the Aubergine curry you could cool down with Raitha but even this has a bit of green chilli..Hey this place is super hot and just like being in Sri Lanka.Remember the Restaurant part round the back serves big bottles of Cobra beer.To the other reviewer who ordered the old indian favourite tandoori chicken in a Sri Lankan restaurant the jokes on you.Im Hungry

i am your 10 yr customer.I usually come on weekends with my friends.before 2 weeks I came by Friday, its very peculiar service. Only one boy working in your restaurant. that day it was too busy.We are waiting for 10 to 15 mins , after that one boy came and take the order. Two of my friends came with me who are new to the restaurant. Both asked some food suggestions to that boy. But that boy did not response properly.with 30 mins late the food came.My friends did not ate anything.I was really fed up.i am your long time customer. Even he did not gave us water. Then i asked water , another man came but he also did not gave water to us. At last one lady came and gave us water and plate. In busy time only one boy is working and it is not good.He is not able to give good service, because he is busy with his mobile also.
Your food is good. But many times its not hot. I think its because of the bad service.
I know you are having 20 years experience. Then why you are not appointing any guys with good experience? Its not advice. Its my request

Love this place, yes the food is heated in a microwave (what do you expect at these prices-there's nothing wrong with re-heating pre-made curry). I've never been to the restaurant but yes, the unlicensed caff is very basic. But this isn't a place for a date, it is a place for very tasty very cheap meals.
The slight sweetnes of soosiam was an addictive start, though the crunchiness of the exterior was compromised by the re-heating- but 80p brings a big starter so be realistic. A mutton kothu curry was also very good, hot but not inedible, the chopped flatbread giving an interesting texture.
On other occasions the vadai have been tasty but a bit solid and something of a challenge to the digestive system, as is anything made entiely from lentils. Mutton fry here is fantastic, and mind-blowingly hot- very addictive. String hoppers are a bit sludgy and I wouldn't reccomend them, though they seem to be like that where ever I've had them.
No one should pretend this is the best food in London, but it makes a real change from Indian or Pakistani places, is simple, very hot and good. The service is very friendly and you can eat an enjoyable different meal for £6.
