We love Sri Lankan food but there is a severe shortage of good Sri Lankan restaurants in London. A friend recommended this to us.

We have been going there for a number of years and I can thoroughly recommend this place in the heart of Wembley.

Home-cooked, very authentic style food. The decor is not much to look at but you don't go there for the decor.

Recommended dishes: kotu roti; aubergine curry; dhal; any of the devilled dishes; appams; string hoppers.

The food is usually very spicy so if you are not used to this, ask them to tone it down.

Tamarind and Thyme

Tamarind and Thyme

Friday, June 21, 2013 - A string hoppers set meal with fish curry was a plate of 10 string hoppers accompanied by a bowl of fish curry and three vegetable preparations: a delicious dal, a spiced cabbage dish and an excellent (to my surprise!) spiced beetroot dish...The fish curry was delicious! It reminded me very much of a Malaysian fish curry, if you’re familiar with that. Loved it. We also ended up ordering a veechu roti on top of everything else after seeing a couple devour a few with their curries. This thin, flaky bad was very similar to the Malaysian roti canai and was utterly gorgeous when dipped in that fish curry.
