Cafe de Paris was probably the best night out I've ever had in London! I went with a few friends and had an amazing night. There was a singer on during the meal, singing RatPack songs and the food was excellent. For the quality of the food and service you'd expect it to have cost a fortune, but the prices are very reasonable.

If you eat there you also get free entry into the club, which was also amazing, live DJ's and podium dancers, we had a really fantastic night. And the night flies by, it doesn't feel like you've been in there for ages, which sometimes can happen if you eat there first too.

I am very confused about the bad reviews for Cafe, I went there for my birthday party and had a fabulous time. The food and service was absolutely amazing!! The venue itself is very decadent and the nightclub itself was brilliant. Very good looking crowd and I managed to get hold of the best looking man in the place!!!!!

I regularly go to the te likes of Movidas and china whites and Cafe is up there with the best of them in terms of crowd and celebs.

I have lived in London nearly all my life and I only just visit the Cafe de Paris last weekend. I wish I had gone earlier! The whole experience was just fab! It ran so smoothly from the moment we were greeted at recpetion to our food arriving promtly and lovely waiting staff!

But what stood out most, apart from the beautiful setting, was the food. It was top-notch and at a very fair cost.

We decided to make a night of it and buy a table on the balcony area for the club. They looked after us so well I was very impressed. If anyone says this venue is past it sell by date - they havent been there recently!

I looked at the reviews on this webite before I went to Cafe de Paris, I'd been recommended by a few people to come here but was a little worried after reading some of the comments. I can honestly say though that I had the most amazing time whilst I was there!

The actual venue is amazing, I felt like I was in the Moulin Rouge or something! I'd organised a leaving party for my friend so there were 10 of us.

The food was gorgeous, I had foie gras to start which was very tasty and fillet steak for my main, cooked to perfection.

We stayed there for the night and moved to one of their VIP balcony tables, where you get to have your own bottles of spirits, so we felt very special. The staff were all friendly and the whole atmosphere was so good that it was 2am before we knew it!

I'd recommend everyone to go there, the food is lovely, and you should go on one of the VIP tables after, you'll feel like royalty.

I dined at Cafe de Paris on Saturday night, I have to say after reading the other reviews I'm wondering If they went to a different restaurant, I found the food fantastic and the service extremely friendly and efficient, we found the prices excellent value for money, as I thought it would be alot more expensive. All round good time had by all, and the club toped it off with great music and a nice clientele.

Where do I start!. I went here for my birthday and all I could keep saying was wow!. My friend and I felt like royalty here. The service was fantastic - we had three people looking after us at one point. The food was superb and the entertainment throughout the meal and afterwards was great. Prices were good considering place and I was very impressed. Hoping to be able to go again soon!

Went along to the Café de Paris on Saturday for a meal and a dance to celebrate my forthcoming wedding…WHAT A MISTAKE. We were told the place opened at 6 but ended up sitting in their dingy church hall for an hour until the place actually opened at 7. The meal we ordered proved to be, at best, mediocre. For £60/head I strongly advise you to go to any of the myriad of excellent restaurants in London. At Maze, Zuma, Locanda Locatelli, Pied a Terre, even Hakkasan you can eat for £60/head: there numerous decent restaurants that you can enjoy at this level. This is not one of them. Opt for somewhere where the chef actually knows the difference between a soufflé and a mousse, for example and where they have a restaurant wine list (as opposed to a “family” restaurant list at exploitative prices.)

At the end of the meal the 12.5% tip was automatically added to our bill, yet the waitress became very moody about our decision not to pay her a FURHTER TIP. This can only mean that the house is stealing the staff’s 12.5% (the only reason we could fathom for why the woman became so stand-offish.) However, this disgusting practice (if this is going on there) is not the fault of the customer. She made us feel that we had taken the food from her own table.

Next, the entertainment. Great double bassist and pianist; but the Frank Sinatra impersonator was appalling. My grandad gives a more impressive rendition after a few glasses of wine.

Finally, the club. This is where things turned nasty. Being a hen night, my friends had brought along a little tiara for me to wear. We were quickly told that the “General Manager” was very strict about no headwear. I said that I didn’t see why they had a problem and asked if I could speak to their GM. A woman arrived who described herself as “The Manager” and re-iterated what had been said. I asked if (were I a Jewish guy) they would have problems with me wearing the kippot. I was immediately told that 1) I would be told to remove it and 2) They HAVE told people to remove their religious headwear. This was a most depressing end to a miserable evening.

So please. If you like good food, good wine, good service, good music or certainly if you think that people have the right to wear religious dress PLEASE BOYCOTT THIS PLACE and ensure your friends do the same. Any questions you may have, I am more than happy to discuss blountamy@hotmail.com

Last Saturday I had a singular misfortune of spending an evening at Café de Paris. I have never been to a restaurant in London with more unfriendly staff. They had no excuse for it as well. The restaurant was practically empty except for someone celebrating their 21st birthday. Waiting staff had the temerity to come and tell us that they were a "posh" and "exclusive" restaurant. Why I wondered would they need to say it, considering we were a group (seven)of professional women. That set the tone for the evening, because every few minutes someone or the other would come and officiously announce new rules of the house.Considering we were the quietest table in the restaurant, this was taking service staff fascism to new highs.

The cocktails had had only a cursory look in from alcohol, rest was all ice and in my case lime and sugar (I ordered caiprinha). The food was slow to come.My asparagus soup starter arrived half an hour later than all other starters at our table, causing everyone to wait and let their starters get cold. The waitress had forgotten all about my order , as she apologetically told me. The main course of sea bass on bed of noodle, was quite frankly poorly seasoned and bland. The desert of chocolate fondant saved the night from being a completely un pleasant experience. With such poor service we still paid over 12.5% surcharge, but the waitress pointedly asked for gratuity. Tip for what....for being made to wait, being served overpriced cocktails with practically no alcohol and made to feel like social leper for being a group of women!! Absolutely not. Big thumbs down to the fascist in café de paris. At £60 a head a total and utter rip off.

We went for a meal for my sister's Hen Night. Great venue- very glamourous, and fun to have live music during dinner.

Food was not great considering the price, but the venue makes up for it.
