Was great again here last Friday, as was a month ago on my last visit. Staff unfailingly polite, how they manage to put up with braying Claphamites day-in, day-out is anyone's guess. Food is decently cooked modern fare in-the-main, though only as consistent as expected at these prices in this location. Make sure you book a table at the front by the window if possible, and definitely not by the toilets/ kitchen.

I went here the other night having read a really rather good review in the Times I think about the quality of the food. I found the whole night to be an absolute pleasure. The restaurant is small but I found it to be charming in this respect; the music is great also and sets a wonderful atmosphere. I found the cocktails to be very nice; the bartender was unusually helpful to be frank. I know a lot about wine and thought that the list was well selected. The food did not disappoint; the flavours on the plate were excellent - we had some Cod with some seaweed and butternut which was tremendous. and my partner had some most excellent lamb. All in all really very good. And I thought the place seemd very clean. No sign of pets!

I went for a nice evening meal with my partner here last week. We had a cocktail at the bar which were nice, sat down and ordered our food. While we were waiting I noticed a MOUSE run out from the kitchen and into the restaurant. Even more worringly it was a FAT MOUSE which looked very well fed. Our starters were then brought over whereby we promptly told the staff that we would not be eating because we had just seen a mouse. The staff did not seem too bothered, still charged us for our drinks and very graciously told us that they would not be charging us for our meal - how kind.

Seems the last reviewers main issue is that the place is small and busy. True but hardly a cause for complaint imo.

I'm a regular at raps because I find the food to be generally very good and I really like the atmosphere. The management are always friendly and, though you can always get a rogue waiter anywhere, the service normally good.

My only issue with the place is that the alcohol isn't cheap, but it's never stopped me propping up the bar.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. Arrived ten minutes after they were supposed to have opened and was abruptly told to go away. Came back fifteen minutes later, ordered but was told I couldn't have a smoothie because the kitchen wasn't 'making' things. Five minutes later others were served smoothies. After waiting an hour for our food we asked the waiter if it was on its way. He replied 'probably'and walked off. After several enquiries the waiter announced the our food order had been lost but no real apology. We were not the only table suffering terrible service. The group of three next to us were shocked when they were told they could not push tables together. Perhaps the one positive was that food delivered to other tables looked pretty good.

We have been to this cafe a few times based on the food - they have excellent breakfasts and their bubble & squeak is the best I've had. I dont usually write bad reviews or complain a lot but thought in this instance this place deserved it. Recently we went there on a Saturday morning looking for breakfast. They only open at 11am which by that stage I am starving - if they opened their doors a hour or two earlier I'm sure they would make more money. We arrived at 11:15 and the place was packed. We were told the only 2 person seats were jammed in between a row of other people and really not a possiblity and the other seat was right next to the WS and servery. We asked if we could sit next to the bar at a table for 4 and was told no. We weren't going to spend money sitting "in the kitchen" so told them politely thanks but no thanks maybe another day. Despite the food we'll never set foot in the place again!! We are locals and surely their business relys on people like us.

Overall the place has poor interior design & is way too cramped and the staff abominably rude.
