4 of us went for brunch at the restaurant this morning. The place was almost full and the staff clearly couldn't cope. We ordered our food and drinks. My girlfriends drink never arrived during the whole meal despite us reminding the staff twice. My breakfast came but was cold and incomplete (missing sausages) and another one of our party was given the wrong meal and had to wait for his to be cooked - we'd all finished our meals by the time his arrived. There are far better places in Clapham to go to.

Had a great time. The service was excellent. Food was delicious, quite small portions, "gastronomique" I guess, but they were beautifully presented and high quality. Book ahead to not be disappointed.

Have had a number of very nice meals there. No grumbles with the food or the service during the meal but I very reasonably asked the staff to order a cab at the end of the meal this evening and the request was refused. I find that pretty surprising for a restaurant which is aiming for a certain standard. Spoilt an otherwise excellent evening. Disappointing...

It's a bar-restaurant so don't expect it to be peaceful and sedate - it's lively but in a good way (on a Fri night). The food we had was really great. The service was attentive even though the place was rammed full and everyone around us seemed to be having great time and enjoying their food also. The menu was an interesting combination of Japanese and Mediterranean influences. I'd definitely go back.

I disagree with the negative comments here. My partner and I tried this place on the weekend and had a lovely meal. Great cocktails, fantasic food, lively atmosphere.

Went there for the first time today. Place looked quite nice from outside. Waitress very friendly and asked how the food was. Unfortunately it was disappointing for both of us. The French toast with fruit had little fruit - it came looking very brown and dull - cooked banana (yuck) rather than fresh and burnt bacon. Would have been so simple to make it look more colourful and fresh. Friend had salmon and noodles. Noodles just plonked on the plate, slab of salmon on top. Friendly enough place but probably wouldnt go back for more than a coffee and maybe eggs - no one can ruin eggs now can they.

Well, my 3rd visit for a brunch. I hate to be picky, but a rather ungenerous response to my reasonable request has irked me no end and of course I'm here to write about it. I've found the food perfectly nice in the past so went along and ordered their meat breakfast (about £7 for 2 fried eggs, a bacon rasher, a sausage, tom and baked beans). Now on this occasion, I didn't want baked beans and asked for my egg to be scrambled. I was told there was a £1 charge to scramble the eggs, and on the menu the cost of baked beans as a side is £1. - I will add at this point that I'm currently looking for a job and every penny counts.- To my mind one £1 cancelled out the other. (And who charges extra for the scrambling of eggs vs. any other way ANYWAY?) I politely asked if this 'exchange' could be applied to the cost of my breakfast and was told 'I'll have to ask the chef as he can be a bit picky about these things'.) Well, the cheque arrived and there it was. The extra £1 added to my breakfast for the scrambled egg but no discount for the non-appearance of beans. When I asked our waitress about this I got a shrug and a smirk. There are plenty of other places in this area to get a nice breakfast - the french place next door is just one - at a lower price. 2 other points - the fresh grapefruit juice was a glass full of pulp and about 3 tablespoons of juice and the service was slow. Not going back again.

Often go in for my regular salmon and noodle dish in the afternoon when I find myself in the area. Can always rely on quality ingredients, cooked well. Tried, tested and tasty! Also been known to stagger in for a cocktail or two (in the evening I might add!) as they are unexpectedly good.

I cant help but disagree with the poor comments here. I have eaten several times here in the last few months and have had some excellent meals; really good quality meats and good presentation. Desserts need some updating but I cant think of many other faults.

I agree with the previous comment. I was there on a sat night a couple of weeks ago, and I was really really disappointed. Maybe it was because I had an amazing meal with absolutely stunning service there once and was really really looking forward to it..we actually took a trip from North London just to go there. My friend who took me here the first time, and who is a regular, had a similar experience recently. all I can say is that it was absolutely disappointing, not only could I have cooked the exact same food myself, but the presentation and effort was totally lacking. I must point out that I am allergic to several ingredients such as dairy and gluten, however this is usually not a problem for a kitchen where everything is prepared from scratch. As usual I called in advance and asked whether it would be a problem and was ensured that they could accommodate me. Plus the first time I was there the chef produced a beautiful meal for me, and there were quite a few options I could choose from which he was happy to modify. Not so This time. They told me I could have only one dish and no sides with it but the beans (which looked like straight from the tin with extra oil), and my boyfriend's meal looked like ready-made from sainsbury's. It was an absolute joke. The meat quality was very good and it was cooked in the right way, but there was no effort whatsoever to actually see why you paid that much money for the meal.

On top of that we were asked right after the meal to move to the bar as they needed the table for other people, which I thought was incredibly rude as the restaurant was only about half full.

Cocktails were great though, for them I would maybe go back but certainly not for the food.
