Visited when staying with some friends in the local area. Unusually, ate out two days in a row and had been to the place down the road the previous evening. Hadley House definitely wins hands down - tasty food, tasteful decoration, friendly service and good value for the price which is reasonable (for us it worked out at about £22 each for dinner and wine, including a tip. I had lamb from the grill menu which was cooked to perfection and my friends enjoyed their meals, too.
I would come back for sure if i lived closer and will suggest to my friends to come here again next time i'll come to London.

I went to Hadley House, which is under newish ownership, for lunch a few weeks ago. I ordered fish and chips, which cost £11. The fish was small and encased in a thick tomb of not very good batter and there were only a few chips. I realised that there were no peas (mushy or otherwise), which you might have expected to get. Anyway, I asked if I could order some peas and it seemed like a huge hassle to the waitress so I said not to bother. My friend, who was pregnant, had to send her sausages back twice to get them cooked through fully. The whole thing was a bit of a shambles but other people say HH has improved under this new regime and my friend went there for dinner soon after and said it was very good so I'll be a bit generous with my marks and try again.
