The Camden Bar and Kitchen is an informal, relaxed venue that is probably best suited to groups of friends seeking a good-value venue for a sociable meal. The food is reasonable; I enjoyed my goat's cheese soufflé and jerk chicken, although neither dish was unusual or particularly memorable. Portions are very good, though; I was unable to finish all the goat's cheese in my starter, which has to be a first for me! Service is friendly, if not always efficient. On balance, I'd probably return if seeking a casual, fairly cheap meal in the area.

I have now been to the Camden bar and Kitchen twice and have had one indifferent experience and one quite dreadful experience. Unfortunately, the chef, is unable to cook, let alone chef, and when taxed to warm items that cannot be microwaved his skills are stretched to breaking point, or rather burning point. Again unfortunately, that was the fate of my sausage and mash, a complex and rare dish that was utterly beyond his competence. PLEASE do not waste your time, money or indeed what could be a good evening, crunching through his charred offerings or mismatched ingredients. I saught solice in my girlfirends risotto and indeed found it, when I realised that her dish had also been so poorly prepared it was nearly inedible. Thankfully though the waitress was very kind and did apologise saying that despite the dreadful food the head cook felt that a replacement or recompense was unsuitable, as it was the best he could achieve with such limited natural or learned ability.
Drinking here is delightful (dont drink the bottom end wines though!!!), given the location, and the front house staff are all very pleasant.

A relaxed dinner with friends where we were looked after well by the friendly waiting staff and not hurried at all. The bill was very reasonable, portions generous and banoffee pie truly amazing
