I took my family to have dinner there on a saturday evening in December having never been there before. Had walked past a few times before and seen the odd decor and been a little bit nervous but gave it ago.
From the moment we walked in we welcomed by the staff who were clearly a family who owned and ran the resturant. Were very welcoming and attentive and were excelent with the balance of being friendly without being intrusive.
The food was absloubtly amazing. Fantastic tasting food and huge portions. I had the Clams to start in a garlic sauce which although just a starter i could have eaten all day! was delicious although the plate could have been warmed better but the taste was incredible. The mains were just as nice with everyone in my family enjoying their food and the staff seemed to enjoy that we were liking their food as much as we were! Had lobster pasta for mains which was possibly one of the best plates of pasta i had ever had and a caramel pannacotta for pudding which was again amazing but my Dad's bannoffie pie was even better.
I would give the food 10/10 and the staff and atmosphere 10/10 too. I would recommend to anyone. My one complaint for the whole evening was if the bowl my starter came in would be better heated.

Food below average; escalope milanese very over cooked. Spaghetti carbonara needed more cream and bacon. Chicken in tarragon sauce was gloopy. Gnocchi in tomato sauce was good. Very overpriced for what it is - the cheapest pasta was nearly £10. A platter of mixed bruschetta was £10. A pudding of 5 small donuts with melted chocolate was £11. We have lived in West Hampstead for years and this restaurant has probably been here for some time, how I do not know, but we will not be visiting again. On a plus side the service was good but then again the restaurant was empty as it was a Monday night.

My husband and I moved to this area 2 years ago and stumbled across this restaurant. Every since then we come at least once a week and bring all of our friends here when they visit us. I come from an Italian family and it is hard for me to find "real" Italian food and with this restaurant I am NEVER disappointed. The people, service and food are all excellent! They also have a great outside area if you want to enjoy a nice evening outside.

Must be the worst restaurant in West Hampstead.
Horrible decor, no hint of freshness in the food and laughably over-priced.
The Walnut across the road is much better.
A must to avoid as Herman said.

Service was good.
1970s decor awful but who cares if the food is good. But it wasn't.
The food had no hint of freshness and was bland.
It's possible to have a reasonable meal here but nothing to write home about. The main problem is the food is ridiculously over priced. A bland vongole was £15 and wasn't worth a fiver. It was nearly a hundred pounds including one bottle of wine for two. There are some great restaurants in London where you can have much better than this.
We would never go back here. A very disappointing experience.

One of the worst dining experiences ever. On the night we went, there was a birthday party where people were shouting, screaming and singing football songs at top volume! No one else could hear themselves speak.
O.K. that's not the restaurant's fault - hopefully they normally have a more civilized crowd. But to cap it, the food was pretty awful. The Tricolore salad I was presented with had a few tiny tomatoes and an avocado that, in all honesty, you might feed to a pig - hard, and brown - totally inedible. My partner's scallops were tiny and hugely overcooked. The main courses were only a little better - overcooked seafood, greasy spaghetti, mean main ingredients.
And the whole lot was vastly overpriced coming to around £100 for two (including a bottle of the o.k. house wine).
At least the service was good, helpful and friendly waitresses who never kept us waiting in spite of the crowd.

My boyfriend is Sicilian and he first took me to Hidden Treasure last year. Since then we have been going almost every week - the food is delicious and it is authentic south Italian cooking. Everything is served at just the right time, everything is fresh and the people who work there make you feel at home. They always try to give us the best experience. I highly reccomend Hidden Tressure as my favourite restaurant in London. Also my boyfriend highly reccommends the shellfish.

Visited on 9-9-10 with my partner, he orderd the duck, they did'nt have it, so then orders the veal in breadcrumbs. it came out looking like a shrivelled up sponge. I orderd the spaghetti and meat balls the spag was fine the sauce was fine but the meat balls where like tiny little things that i have bought from the frozen food section in ikea. very dissapointed will not be returning............

We dined here last night for the first time, and agree to all good comments below for their hearty food in massive portions, service and decor. I love the way they cook pasta and rice, in addition to fresh seafood, and irresistable homemade deserts! It is deceptive to see them empty in early evenings as the tables were quickly filled up after 20:30 even on a Sunday just before Christmas! Definitely recommend to any food lovers and families!

One of the best seafood restaurants I've been to. The food is traditionally cooked and extremely tasty, not to mention the huge portions. Atmosphere great and service excellent. I always recommend it to my friends and family and no one has been disappointed yet.
