wow just wonderful food for all tastes. i love their soup n my favorite is dishes from 'roti canai' ; with indian curries, their fish goes really well with the roti (type of naan bread but very soft). the malaysian food is just wonderful (whole fish served with fish curry gravy, rice n veg)
i took some malaysian takeaways from there for a party, everyone loved the food.
the drinks are just great, healthy & nicely presented
top quality for the money spent

Great food every where you turn.
The building itself might not be great but the people that work there take their food seriously. It can be a bit daunting the first time you go because its so busy and theres just so much choice but you'll get used to it and really really enjoy going.
I usually get anything malaysian, the service is great the people are very friendly.
Its also a great place to get tropical fruit drinks freshly made, they taste great!
Its definetly value for money <
The only down side I guess is that it can get so packed sometimes finding somewhere to sit can be annoying, however I think the business adds to the atmosphere.
I've been there around 6 times and would definetly go again.

have been going there since i was little and love it every time we go, from the buffet upstairs, to the restaurants, to the food court, to the shops, to the arcade, defiantly a great place to go with the family or just to have a walk around on a Saturday/Sunday afternoon

I'm from Japan and I found the restaurants are not Japanese at all - well, there was one Sushi restaurant but obviously the shef was not Japanese as you find it happening in quite a lot of restaurants in London and Paris.
If you expect to go out to eat Chinese or other Asian food, it's still nice place to go.
Oh, there was a nice Japanese cutlery shop there - mostly it wasn't "Made in China" !

The plus side of oriental city is that it offers a variety of food in their food court but the quality of food isn't good at all. Also the hygiene is sub-standard.
If you fancy a quick meal, great. Otherwise, any noodle shops in Chinatown will offer better quality food and cheaper.

Oriental City is Possibly The Best Place to get Food in London. Cheaper than Chinatown, but equal quality means that I now know where half my student Loan has been going.
Many People have mentioned in their reviews the Insane amount of choice you have - I can back this up from here to ying yang. Ive known about the place for 9 Months effectively, and I *still* havent tried everything, despite myself and my university comrades going almost every tuesday after our Lectures. Oriental city has it all, not only in serving food, but the Supermarket is quite frankly amazing, ranging from foods in Japan, to the Phillipines.
I live in Finsbury Park at the moment, and I still dont hesitate to travel all the way to colindale for Lunch. It is WELL worth the Hassle. Admittedly, If you arent from the far east or of typical oriental origins, you may feel a little outcasted by the fact that many of Oriental City's Patrons are Asian, but for someone studying Japanese like myself, this just adds to the Atmosphere.
Be sure to Try the 'Mixed Meat Croquettes' and 'Soft Noodles with Chicken and Vegetables' ;-)

This is like heaven, a place to eat and shop. I used to study at Middlesex University in Hendon and Oriental City was like my own food court. I was so lucky that I could have different kind of food each and every day, with the choices there, I would never get bored.
As a Chinese myself, it's not just about the food to eat, it's also the culture as well. If you go there near the Chinese New Year, or something, there always has celebration and performance. I think it is just like a small local China Town in North London.
Don't forget to try the restaurant upstairs, they do Dim Sum and again, better than you have in China Town. Fresh and hot, more importantly, it's very good value for money.

I went to Oriental City for the first time yesterday. I didn't even know about the food court which was a fantasic surprise. The sheer volume of choice at the food stalls was amazing. I was there with two friends form Singapore and Malaysia and we all took ages deciding what to have. I enjoyed my Vienamese pork chops (almost as good as the ones I had on the Mei Kong Delta). I found the food portions and selection better than in Chinatown. The picture menus really help. And there is good value as well.
