Enjoyed a Sunday roast at the Star. Good quality beef, and vegetables were lovely. The pub has a good atmosphere if a little quiet.
The Star has apparently been open since November 2006, great environment and good food.
Perhaps a little pricey at £12.95 for a Sunday lunch, but the food is good quality so I will be back.
I came back on Friday for a drink and the pub is good for a quiet local drink.

I would put this pub up there as a must on the north London Sunday lunch short list. Had a wonderful Christmas lunch there with a large group last Sunday and everything was just right. Top class roasts, miles better than anything you'll find in Highgate proper. I've eaten there on several occasions now, not just Sundays, and the quality is consistently good, I’ve taken various family and friend groups there and everyone has really loved it. The downstairs bar is beautiful, albeit a little dark sometimes (you get used to it), the upstairs is even nicer.
Ok you don't get table service like you do at st. Johns but it’s all part of the charm and I'd rather the star any day.
