Sollys

I was just making myself a olive and feta wrap/ kebab at home and thought oooh I could go a Solly's, alas I'm several hundred km away. If I'm ever in London, which isn't frequently these days sadly, Solly's takeaway is my first stop. I love the shwarmas in Iraqi bread, loads of salad of which they have a wide choice and lashings of Hummus and sehug.
I've never been in the resturant part.

A captive market will always put aside the astronomical price and rude service in order to find somewhere to eat and a restaurant that serves meat at that.
Don't go here unless you need to (and you really shouldn't need to as there are better places nearby!)

I'm amazed at the extreme views of the reviewers here, both positive and negative. I'm not sure we all went to the same place. In my opinion going to Sollys was a very good experience, not the best at anything but no really bad points.
The service was good and the level of attention was just right without being too much. The food was very enjoyable. I have always liked the style of food and everything was cooked well with excellent flavours. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very comfortable. Quite loud and informal but not headache worthy. My least favourite thing was the price. A little pricey for the type and quantity of cuisine but as I enjoyed my experiences there I was happy to pay.
I have also been to the takeaway part and this too was good. The shawarma was good, as were the falafel. The best thing about the takeaway was the salads, a great selection and some brilliant flavours and textures.
Overall I do like Sollys and will be returning.

I am disgusted by the reviews written about this restaurant... Most Jewish clientel prefer quantity over true quality when choosing their food. I am Jewish myself and I recognize quality cuisine and I prefer quality even if it means spending a little more, at least I know I ate well and healthy. I have eaten in most Kosher restaurants (as well as non-kosher), and anyone who truly knows authentic Lebanese (Israeli) cuisine knows that unlike White House, Sami's, Adam's and every other relative newcomer or imitator, Solly's is the single entity in the entire Jewish community that offers an authentic form of this cuisine made with the highest quality ingredients (needless to say the result is insanely delicious). This is why I have been coming back to Solly's every week or so for the past 18 years. Any person who disagrees, does so due to poor knowledge and understanding of what constitutes supreme quality ingredients in the preperation of authentic lebanese cuisine.

I can't believe this virtually antisemitic commentary that is being pushed on about Sollys. Me and my wife and children have been coming here for ages and the food is great, the staff are polite and fun-filled, and the pricing is very compatative.
We will be there again ASAP. people, pay no attention, go yourselves and have a good meal..

A rare visit to london and we were recommended to Sollys! We had just been to see our team aston villa beaten by arsenal and were in need of a boost! We lost three nil and i can only say that the food, atmosphere and people were worse than our football team!
The 2 bowls of chicken soup were small, tasteless and inedible and the waitress was beyond description, even having the audacity to charge a £1.20 service fee...UNBELIEVABLE!
Having attempted to eat the soup and having seen the filth of the counter we decided against ordering anything else and managed to make our get away to birmingham! DO NOT VISIT THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU ARE STARVING, DYING OF THIRST , UNLESS YOU WANT TO HAVE THE MOST HILARIOUS 20MINUTES OF YOUR LIFE!

If this place wasn't Kosher i don't think anyone put up with the overpriced, less than mediocre food that they serve up. People that eat Kosher are limited in choice, so perhaps they oversee the numerous flaws and shoddy food. They only accept cash for no clear reason. The staff are rude and behave as though they are doing you a favour. Don't eat here or at their take away. Go to White House 100m up the road, which is more reasonably priced, the food is good and the staff are pleasant.

The take-away is wonderful, a little overpriced but tasty! The chicken shwarma - great stuff!
The dining experience is nothing short of abysmal.
The food is average and outrageously overpriced. ( I fancied a bit of coleslaw on the side- i'm talking an egg-cup full : they charged me £5 for it! )
The service is lazy, painfully slow and obnoxious. At one point the acting manageress came to our table and began shouting at us. Surreal.
I will be returning to the take-away, yet not to the restaurant.

The food is delicious. I would go there a lot, but they don't accept credit cards and my parents never have enough cash on them. Your shawama is the best in the bussiness.
