20 years since I first ate at the Penang Satay House and I have returned at least 4 times each year since with friends, family, for large birthday occasions and other celebrations. The standard of food has remained consistently high and the service is good, relaxed and friendly. The prices have always been reasonable as well. A cold Tiger beer or two goes down a treat with all their dishes.

Never eaten in this restaurant but just had take-away from it and was quite simply the worst take-away I have had in a long time.

Perhaps the main problem was that I found them whilst looking for Malaysian restaurants- they quite clearly, despite the name, are not a Malaysian restaurant.

The Nasi Goreng consisted of special fried rice with a few added spices, the Rendang Daging tasted much like curry powder. If you are looking for your average Chinese take-away this place may succeed in ticking some boxes but Malaysian cuisine is clearly something they know very little about…and the same goes for local delivery!

This place has strange policity for customers. I arrived with my gf, order 2xDinner set. After first 20 minutes of waiting we received only starters, which to be honest was nothing really special. After we finish some rude waiter takes the dishes, and gives us empty bowls for soup. After that seems that they just forget about us, so I throw my look at the waiters. I started to be really annoyed, because we were sitting with empty bowls and we were really hungry. When our neighbors which arrives long time after us received their meal I got really angry - I have canceled our order and leave this place after one hour of waiting for nothing.

Have been going to this restaurant for over the pass 15 years, started when I was a student at Middlesex University and living in the area have since moved to South London but still visits this resturant occassionally. Food has been consistantly good, excellent value for money, and never had any complaints about the service.

Surprise that your guidelines indicate that they do not cater for groups as I have organised my work Xmas party and have had birthday gatherings at this venue, this was however several years ago. Well worth a visit.

My girlfriend and I went here for a meal on Saturday night and it was one of the best meals we've had for a while. The service was great - very friendly, very informative and eager to please. We wanted an authentic Malaysian meal, and they suggested one of the set menus was best value for money, and replaced the standard beef curry with a Rendang, at no extra cost. The starters, satay chicken, beef and prawn, with spring rolls and prawn crackers, were a meal in themselves. The main course consisted of mixed fried rice, spicy prawns, the beef rendang, a gorgeous orange chicken, and stir fried vegetables. Desserts then followed. At only £13.50 per person for all of that, and when the food provided for 2 could easily serve 3 or 4, it's incredible value. And the chianti at under £13 per bottle is a bargain too!

DEFINITELY go to this restaurant. We will be returning soon!!

This is my favourite restuarant, I have been to many Chinese, Thai and Malaysian restuarants, but none of them can beat the good food, good service and good atmosphere. I go to this restaurant for all my friends and family restuarants. I even go there for meals to catch up with friends I have not seen in a long time. I am actually taking my Mum there for Mother's Day. Any excuse to go there and have great food.
