It has become somewhat of a tradition to dine in Inside whilst visiting my parents in Greenwich during the Flora marathon. The decor is minimalist and acquired taste, however the food and service are impecable. It is so rare to have three courses and enjoy each of them all as much as I did.

The staff are extremely accommodating and not snobby. On the night the time lapsed before our starter was unusually slow and yes they were quite busy, however due to the attentiveness of the staff this really didn't matter a lot. The maitre'd came over to apologise before we had even felt we should say anything.

You must try this restaurant.

This was our first visit. Food was great and excellent value, brulee was a bit too runny tho.....anyway it could be me. What put the icing on the cake was the free wine upgrade. The manager offered us a better wine, for they run out of the wine we wanted.

All in all, a great place to eat in Greenwich

We went to Inside for my wife's birthday after hearing good things about this restaurant. The atmosphere was average with reasonably nice decor, however close tables and a lack of ambient noise meant conversation was a shared affair.

The food definately lived up to it's promise and we had nothing to complain about there.

The wine list was quite good however the wine we ordered was from a different region to that advertised on the menu. Not a big thing unless you're enthusiastic about your wine.

The service however was very poor and ruined what could've been a very good evening. Whilst not super expensive, you are paying enough that you expect more.

We both left feeling disappointed despite the great food and won't be hurrying back

Wow! The food at Inside is fantastic. No complaints there and very good value for money . They have 2 and 3 course set menus at select times which make for a very reasonable night out considering the quality of the food.

The service however is indifferent and inconsistent at best. Only some people were offered the coat rack. We waited 30 minutes to get our bread and olive oil (some tables got olives- we weren't offered a choice), with our starter arriving about a minute after that. Throughout the meal we had to ask for more water and wine- nothing was forthcoming at anytime and eye contact was very hard to make with ANY of the staff. Trying to pay for our meal was a nightmare and after about 20 minutes of waiting we had to ask for the bill and then it took a further 15 minutes for them to take bring the portable EFTPOS machine to our table. No goodbye was offered as we left.

If they could sort out their staff, this could be such a gem!

I ate here for the first time last night and i have to say the food was sublime. Where Inside falls down is poor service and a very dated dining room. A little concentration on these two disciplines and the place is head and shoulders above anywhere in the area.

Thoroughly recommended!

I recently had a meal for two here after finding the restuarant on this website as it's location leaves it a little hidden. I have worked in Greenwich for a few years now and was unaware of it's existence. My first impression was of a cold conservatory. The decor throughout (including the toilets) was not to my taste at all (although this is of course entirely subjective.) For starters I had beetroot soup and my girlfriend, butternut squash salad. Both were fantastic and generous in quantity. The main courses were samosa and breast of chicken, and again both were of very good quality. I was apprehensive to choose the cheeses for afters as I have very rarely been satisfied, but again there was a good and tasty selection. The wine list was quite good and I had a half bottle of red and my partner one cranberry juice. The total was just over £50 which for the quality and quantity of the meal was of excellent value. I didn't like the venue (as you may have worked out by now !) but as a reasonable cook myself and thus a harsh critic, the food is of course the main reason to dine and I will return and recommend it to friends.

I went to Inside on Friday 20 July. I agree that the restaurant is on the whole very good by general London standards, with an interesting menu and varied and reasonable wine list. It was notably noisy when we arrived, with quite a harsh echoey effect from the hard wall surfaces, though this did reduce when a large party left.

Starters were good, particularly the goats cheese souffle. My main course of 'pan-fried halibut was however disappointing: a miniscule and rather dry triangle little taste or texture, rather than the hoped for chunk of pearly white fish. In retrospect I should have raised it with the manager right away but I was being treated to a birthday meal.

In contrast the beef dish was pretty substantial and very tasty, so probably just bad luck for my choice.

Mains are all around the £15 mark and I certainly needed a dessert to fill up on; so while not madly expensive they're certainly not giving it away. I'll probably give it another chance: but I won't let them get away with another dud offering.

I live in Greenwich and have been to Inside on a number of occassions and often bring friends and family when they visit as i feel it is the best restaurant not only in Greenwich but also London.

I am a vegetarian and there is always plently of amazing dishes for me to choose from such as the mozerrela and tomato tart for starters the roated artichoke with ricotta and pine nuts with a goats cheese sauce for mains and the devine chocolate chip brownie with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce for dessert. I have never been disappointed with any of the dishes i have had here and everyone that has come to Inside with me have loved the food.

The service is always non intrusive, helpful and friendly and the atmosphere is always buzzing with chat and laughter.

I would throughly recommend this restaurant to all and it is well worth the trip even if you do not live in or near Greenwich.

Amazing.....

Tried this place on Friday and loved it. Fabulous food, good service (competent but not intrusive), and a real treat of a bottle of wine. Definitely worth trekking to Greenwich for. Perfect for hot dates and birthday treats (or so I'm telling my other half...)

I've had lunch at Inside half a dozen times over the past six months. Not once have I been disappointed by the food (simple, flavoursome and always perfectly executed cooking), service (friendly and efficient) or value.

The prix fixe lunch menu has offered choices of four starters, mains and sweets. Not being a large lunch eater I've never had a pudding.

Favourite firsts have been moules mariniere and chicken and lemongrass spicy spring rolls.

Excellent mains have included breast of guinea fowl. My favourite has to be the rib-eye steak; tender and cooked to medium-rare perfection, served with chunky chips and salad.

The waitress has told me that custom tends to be local. I live in Hertfordshire and believe that Inside is of such quality that it ranks as a destination restaurant.

In my experience of eating out , including Michelin 3 star establishments,it matches the QPR of my favourite restaurants in the UK and France.
