We stopped in here for lunch in the afternoon today (Saturday) and found it absolutely stunning! The servers were quite nice and the food was really stunning. We ordered from the "day menu", and while the eggplant was nice but nothing special, the halloumi with honey was to die for, and the hummus and falafel were absolutely delicious. We had bread too, which was lovely. The prices on the day menu were very reasonable and the bill, including service (which I actually appreciated because it meant I didn't have to calculate it!), came out to less than £30 including drinks. I would come here again in a heartbeat!

Slow service and very misleading prices. The food was edible but the experience left a bitter taste regardless. Avoid.

I went to Al Casbah yesterday early evening and although the restaurant was half empty, the manager asked us to sit outside, perhaps as some kind of desperate promotional ploy. He said something about we can't sit inside if we were going to smoke shisha, yet during the evening we found 2 other parties smoking having shisha inside! The food was over priced, considering mediocre taste and presentation, the toilet was broken and the service was unwelcoming and shockingly slow given the lack of diners. The menu stated service would not be included, but the waitress decided to cross out the total bill and add what she thought was a reasonable tip. Unless you usually enjoy paying for poor service and below average food, don't bother going to Al Casbah.

I attended this restaurant for my 21st birthday, quite frankly the service was a shambles ... we were rushed and made to feel most uncomfortable, as we were told on arrival that there was another party afterwards.

The time it took to serve the food was ridiculous and when it finally came it was sub-standard (uncooked meat, soft chips - say no more!! etc), although the Chicken kebab tenders were rather nice. Not mention the cramped surrounding.

Perhaps a good destination for a couple to have a quiet dinner, but not the scene for a party!!

I went to Al Casbah just over a week ago Friday 10th February, I have to tell you it was the biggest let down I have ever experienced, having been there in the past and really enojoy it, this time we invited some friends. The houe wine was not what it was supposed to be at £15 per bottle, when we challenged the waiter he went to look for the wine that was advertised and could not find it and never came back to us. The wine we received was of very poorquality, we know something about wine and know this was not worth £7.750 let alone £15.00. There were very few people in the restaurant both down stairs and upstairs, the heating was off, the toiletes not very useable and the staff looked like they could not wait to get out. We ordered desert, one desert arrived and after 15 mins when we enquired where the second one was the waitress said it was being cooked, it arrived 10 mins later rock hard and over cooked and rather cold.

Hello,

I went to Al Casbah last night with a group of friends and I have to confess that the food once again was marvellous. We had ribs and chicken with mash potatoes for a main plate, while for a first plate we choose mezze for 2 (which was in fact mezze for four persons)!! Really nice atmosphere in connection with a very qood quality of food makes this place very special. I definitely recommend to anyone that wants to have an original Moroccan- African flavour into his mouth!!! The prices are reasonable by taking into consideration: the portions, the atmosphere and the area!!! Kali orexi

Went with a group of friends on new year's eve and wouldn't repeat the experience in a hurry. The quaint low tables are ideal if you are ronnie corbett or jimmy kranky but less than ideal if you are normal sized and want to sit upright and digest your food properly. The starter was some kind of mixed vegetables in filo pastry which was so bland and cardboard-like that at one stage of the course I accidentally started chewing my napkin and it took me 20 seconds to realise the difference. The chicken for the main course was ok but barely enough to feed a poodle. On the plus side, the staff were nice, although the resident belly dancer looked suspiciously masculine. At over £40 a head, not great in short.
