Went there six of us plus a child and a dog and didn't manage to eat. First we sat outside, set up the high chair and when we went to order they informed us that they were not serving food outside; even though everybody around us was eating. We than proceeded inside but they told us we could not sit at a table as we had a small dog with us. The staff was so incredibly rude that when I returned the high chair and said then we should go somewhere else, they told me with a smirk we certainly will be there again. One of my friend complained as there was a lady eating with a dog next to her and asked for the manager's name to make a formal complaint. The manager than became very angry and refused to give those information, at the end he threw a pen at my friend. Will never set foot there again!!!

Do not go there for coffee or service.
I have eaten and ordered drinks many times from their bar, and enjoyed the place and service. however just now i return from there (with friends from overseas) and want to post my annoyance at their bar staff. i order two beers, a coffee and two hot chocolates (for 2 freezing teenage girls). i am told, arrogantly, by the bar staff that i cannot order coffees or hot chocolates, it'll take 15 minutes because there are so many people waiting (he waves through the room to suggest may people are waiting, which they are not). when i say i will wait he looks at me with annoyance then asks his colleague to help. his colleague then turns on the machine – it wasn't even switched on – and makes some lukewarm coffees/hot chocolate (with annoyance and expletives. the staff, it is clear do NOT want to make coffee). the bar man then chastises me by telling me if i want coffee go to Starbucks before charging me the 15 pounds for his bad service and bad coffee/hot chocolate. the freemasons is worth avoiding because of this. i live in the neibhgourhood but will make a detour in future. please, sort your staff out.

Sunday lunch with my parents, my fiancée and her parents. A lovely building tall ceilings and light (although the acoustics in the conservatory section were not good – although it could have been the volume of the other punters). Service at peak Sunday lunchtime (13:30) was slow, a little dishevelled (some problems with English comprehension) but friendly and helpful. Food – mostly roasts was excellent, and deserts looked decent. £20 a head including a couple of drinks is not too bad given the location. It has to be said that there is plenty of competition in these parts (The Wells, Horseshoe, Hollybush, Garden Gate, the not so Olde Whitee Beare) but the freemasons is up there with them. And no need to roll trousers up or bare nipples.

Five of us went for lunch here last week. It was a hot day and we enjoyed drinks outside before sitting down in the very nice looking , large dining room. I agree with previous comments about the service being a bit slow but the waitress and the guy behind the bar could not have been more cheerful or pleasent. Anyway, we were not in a rush. The Carpaccio of hams and brie were divine and of generous size and my Roast Chicken was succulent and cooked in a delicious sauce. The other 4 all loved it too and we all agreed that The Freemason's provided tremendous value. The wine list was of reasonable size and attractively priced.
All in all a very good experience.

Ate at the restaurant last night. The food was good - I don't think any of the 6 of us were disappointed - and the the dining room was a lovely, bright room. However, the service was awful. Firstly they had no record of our booking, even though a friend phoned to confirm the booking on Monday, and they just seemed so amateur. We were seated, had our orders taken, the mains arrived whilst the starters' plates hadn't been cleared (we finished our starters 10 mintutes earlier), and then desserts were delivered, but no cutlery provided. And then after paying the bill we decided to stay at the table for drinks, only to be told we couldn't sit there unless we were eating! This would seem reasonable if they needed the restaurant space, but the restaurant was almost empty.
It didn't turn out to be a problem as there was more than enough comfortable space in the pub, so we weren't really that bothered.
So, all in all, I think we had a lucky escape as it wasn't busy, but I wouldn't even dare go near there when the place is busy. Or maybe the locals have already experienced the ineptness of the place and go to one of the many other decent places in Hampstead.
