i go to Dim T with my family at least once a month. i love it so much that i get cravings. My favourite dish is the stirfry with japanese flat noodles, hong kong style- the dish is unbeleivable.

The food tastes great and the atmosphere is fabulous. The staff are hot, which is just as well as they're not good for anything else, especially keeping plates upright, remembering orders, paying attention to customers or being helpful. Still, the food is tasty and the prices are good so I go back time and again.

The only downside of the restaurant is the service, which is truly aweful. I go regularly and so have experienced many problems (and the occasional problem free meal).

The main problem is that the staff are selected on their looks, not their abilities. There's nothing wrong with this, as long as you don't turn up expecting good service. I've been served raw chicken in dim sum, duck when I ordered lamb (and the waitress insisted it was lamb when I complained, even though it looked and tasted like duck and presumably has "duck" written on the packaging in the kitchen), whole meals forgotten and been told by a waiter that the dish my girlfriend ordered was terrible - she advised ordering something else.

Meals can take anything between 30 mins and 3 hours, depending on whether the staff bother to serve you quickly or not, so you can never be sure whether you're going for fast food or a relaxed meal. I guess that adds to the excitement.

If you want great atmosphere, food with potential and hot waitresses, this is definately worth visiting.

if you know nothing about chinese food, this is the place for you.

if you consider dim sum to be pasties this is the place for you.

if you like to be seen in hampstead, and don't have a clue, this is the place for you.

if you like to pay for terrible service, this is the place for you.

all in all it's quite a place. avoid at all costs unless you're one of the above.

Great little restaurant with accessible oriental food at excellent value. Interesting selection of dim sum which don't strive to be too authentic so no chicken feet for the purists!! but all in all a good experience.

This is a lovely choice for an affordable early dinner before a film at the Everyman. the food was lovely and the place had a nice buzz about it. Staff were efficient, if lacking in a little charisma and the overall experience left us planning a return visit.

dim t is a nice restaurant to go to when you're having a craving for dim sum, but the tables are far too close together, and really have an affect on the experience, as well as the slow service. i went with my friend and there were only 6 other people in the restaurant yet we had to wait for atleast 20 minutes. i'd definitely try the dim sum though.

Great food, great atmosphere and caring staff. If you're looking for recommendations one of the best dishes on the menu (especially if you want to feel like you're eating light) is the chicken and lettuce wrap - just delicious!! For some reason even though this is just one of my neighbourhood local favourites I always feel like I've been for a 'night out'. Enjoy.

I went to Dim T last night with my boyfriend, and we loved it. I want to rave on about how great it is, but am afraid to incase we can't get a seat next time we go!

The food was gorgeous, the service friendly and well timed, and the atmosphere was relaxed and funky. I had prawn and peanut dumplings, followed by a spicy prawn stir fry style dish. You can choose your own concoctions from a selection of ingredients on the menu, or choose from the set dishes. Even the prawn crackers were out of this world. I can't wait to go again.
