Ive been frequently eating at this place for the last 6 years. Food was always great and very reasonable.
Oh how things have changed!
Friends had told me they'd gone off it but that didnt stop me going last night. Unfortunately they were right.
Something has changed at the restaurant. Service was terrible, foof was cold for both myself and my partner and when we informed the waitress, no apology - Nice! It came back not much warmer and tasted awful.
We left most of it. When the waitress came to clear the plates she asked if everything was ok. I explained that I had had been eating the same dish for the last year but this was the worst one.
She informed me that all the regular customers were complaining since they changed some of the ingredients were changed.
No offer was made to change our meal or not charge us for are half eaten food.
This is my first ever posting and wanted to inform those considering of eating here to go elsewhere.

I'm very sorry to say that the food and service were awful on the two occasions I have been there, and I was so looking forward to it as a lover of good dim sum.
The waiting staff were inattentive and moved far too slowly. The food was cold and below average when it eventually came after a very long wait. No apology was offered.
Sadly this kind of experience is often the case on a weekend evening in any overcrowded but desirable part of London.
It needs to be run better and not rely on nonchalant summer jobbers who appear to be laissez-faire to say the least ! I may try the one near Tower bridge next time and get better luck.
Good luck with improving things.

Probably one of the worst service in Hampstead even if the food is alright

I and my husband went to dimt yesterday for diner, and it was amazing. The wonton soup and the gyoza are unbeatable, and a must try for this place. Hong-kong style stirfry too was very nice though it was a bit on the sweeter side. Just that the portions were huge, so I could not finish it! When it comes to deserts we usually take a good look at the tables surrounding us to see what the dishes look like, and then order something. We did not go for the deserts as we were too full.
The chocolate findue like dish looked tempting though. Another thing i noticed was that the service had greatly improved. Last time, it as slow, and we had to reming them several times. This time, they asked us the order and the time in which we would like our leals and it was served accodingly. I was highly impressed. all in all...a must visit place and reasonably priced too!!

i went to Dim t in hampstead for the first time last week with a friend. I can honestly say for a small little restairant in hampstead it had the most divine food for the most incredible prices. The prawn dim sum are to die for combing flavour and texture. As for the main meal, we both had completely different 'create your own' noodle bar and they were both fantastic. Generous portions with just the right amount of different flavours fused together. fantastic!

Great little place - tasty dim sum - prawn, peanut and coriander dumpling and roasted pork buns were very tasty and the pastry perfect. Main dishes of Malaysian Curry and Sticky Cantonese Chicken both delicious. Buzzy atmosphere on a Wednesday, friendly, quick and helpful staff, great tea. I couldn't fault anything

What's happened?
Dim T used to offer good clean food, nicely cooked with reasonable quantities. Not any more unfortunately?
The quality is now distincly average and the quantities have shrunked dramatically. Last night may well be the last time I eat there.
Service is a different matter. At least 4 people asked whether everything was okay. Perhaps the staff have seen quality dropping and worried about the customers.

The restaurant is a nice location and attractively laid out. However, we found the food poor - you get much better in Chinatown or even from an average takeaway and the staff pretty hopeless.

I went to DimT last night and it was fantastic. The food was amazing definitely recommend the dim sum, the create your own stirfry and belguim chocolate wonton's. All the food came out on time and well presented. Service was really good which was unexpected given the previous reviews. Waitress was really friendly, willing to give recommendations and didn't mind when 2 members of our party were 30 min late for our booking. A must try is the homemade lemonades. Their smoke-free area is actually smoke free as it is situated downstairs
