Only had a takeaway- half a jedungo chicken for £4.50, fantastic, great charr from the grill, and the chilli hit was short lived but intense and gave a perceptible adrenaline boost, really addictive. Honestly one of the best simple things I've eaten in London.
Whilst I was waiting for my takeaway lots of people were being turned away from the restaurant at the back, due to not having a booking, when someone did have one, the door was unlocked and they'd be let in, and it was apparent that behind was a heaving room of people having a great time. The food alone means I'll be getting plenty of takeaway, but from waht I saw through the locked speakeasy style door, I can't wait to try the restaurant.

Lovely friendly staff, good service, nice family run atmosphere. Not many options if you are a vegetarian - lots of fish and meat. Huge big portions, but not as cheap as I'd been led to believe. A few people in our party said their food was quite salty.

We live just around the corner and eat here frequently - the food is great value, the atmosphere is warm and friendly and the food tastes as though your (portuguese) mother had cooked it.. Portions are huge, so although I always end up ordering starters and mains because it all looks and smells so inviting, I can't always finish (and this coming from someone who's used to American-sized portions!). The restaurant itself is hidden behind a pretty average-looking take-away chicken bar, but once you've found your way in, it's definitely worth the attempt. The take-away chicken isn't bad either.
