This place is fabulous. I was intoduced to the restaurant by friends and I absolutely love the atmosphere, food and drink. We've been regulars for a couple of years now and it's great to go somewhere to eat "proper food" that reminds you of your mum's home cooking. The sun dried cod is delicious and the fish platter for two is great. Also- although not quite as healthy as the fish dishes- the caramel souffle is a delight!

We go there evey now and then to watch the Benfica matches. It's allways a fantastic environment when there's a football match, especially if it's the Portuguese Team playing. The food is delicious, very well prepared, and the staff are very welcoming. I sugest the salada de polvo (octopus salad) with a Super Bock beer, finishing with a bica (expresso) and a pastel de nata. We recomend this place to everyone who hasn't tryed the portuguese cuisine yet. It's trully an amazing place to spend a good evening, you won't regret it.

Great place. I've been coming here for a few years and the quality has always been top notch - so far I've never had a bad surprise ordering from the (long) menu of portugese specialties.
Cantinho has a real friendly feel to it - always fairly busy and the owner is a real gem. There's a good mix of families, big tables, few people drinking at the bar.
For food - really a lot to choose from. I suggest Feijoada - seafood dish with mussels, gambas, various shells, beans and tomato sauce. Desserts are all homemade and a bit on the heavy side, but delicious. House wine for under £10 (rare in London) is very good and beats some £25+ bottles I've had in more upmarket eateries.
Bottom line - great food, friendly service, terrific value.

Went there with 10 or so friends recently, and most of us were well impressed. I had veal with ham and egg, out of this world. They also serve one of the best beers ever, Sagres, at £1.70 a bottle!!

This is an excellent place. Food is brilliant and the staff are very nice. We went there for lunch in February for my sister's birthday, and bought a cake next door at a portuguese patisserie and the restaurant's owner offered to deliver the cake to the table to surprise my sister. At the end it surprised us all when they switched off the lights and played the Happy Birthday Song. It was an wonderful experience. Definitely will return there again.

I have been a few times to this restaurant and the food has always been quite good and doesn't disappoint in terms of authenticy. It can be quite noisy and busy at times, but in end a quite typical Portuguese café/restaurant. Very good value for money.

This is a proper Portuguese restaurant.
Great food in generous portions and at an affordable price.
Apart from the popular 'bitoque' make sure you try the 'Feijoada a transmontana' (beans with various meats) and the 'Carne de porco a alentejana' (pork and clams).
I always make sure I pay them a visit every time I travel to London, which is what I'm about to do now.

when i entered i was greeted by a vey kind person who in the end turned out to be my cousin. we sat down on a very nice table from where the views were great. i opted for a traditional portuguese dish "Bitoque" it steak with rice, salad, egg and chips.
it was very delectable. the service was good and the atmosphere was extremely homely sending me back to my youth i loved it and even thogh it is in stockwell i will return again and again until i die
