We had a family get together a few days ago at La Rueda on a Friday night. The restaurant was full, but didn't have to wait very long to get a table.
We were impressed by the food and the wines (superb La Rioja Reserva), we had a mix seafood and meat paella for 10 people, and it was a total amazing feast. In hindsight, having order pimientos padron, garlic shrimp, croquetas, jamon iberico, patatas bravas and grilled lamb was not a very good idea... there was so much food, and even it was very good for the palette, we had no place for dessert!
The owner happened to roam around the the place speaking to all of us which made it fun. I think we found a very good traditional and real spanish restaurant like the ones in Madrid or Valencia.

I have been a regular customer for the past few years.
The waiter who serves me most of the time is very friendly. The atmosphere is welcoming, complete spanish vibe.
The food was outstanding, the pulpo a la gallega was cooked to perfection, paella was very tasty, the portions are great for the price you are paying. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. I work nearby and everyone has always complimented the service and food. I am very shocked at some of the comments i have just read. I have never experienced bad service and neither have any of my friends or family

I used to eat regularly at La Rueda in Wigmore Street, now sadly closed down, which is why I took my friend to the King's Road branch on Sunday 25 April, and oh dear, what a disappointment. Having made my way through the very polite Chelsea supporters in the bar I had to go looking for a waiter to show me to my booked table. When I did find one he was supremely uninterested in helping me. This continued throughout our meal, another waiter was verging on rudeness. We had tapas, the shell on prawns delicious and plentiful, the portion of eels had shrunk and had no chilli, the whitebait was so overcooked that there was nothing resembling a fish inside the 'shell' of breadcrumbs. Service charge was already added to the bill, I wish I'd had the nerve to cross it off, but I won't go back there.

We eat at La Rueda fairly regularly, and always find the atmosphere very welcoming and friendly. The waiters are second to none, and we always have excellent service. The food is wonderful, particularly the seafood paella, washed down with a bottle of El Coto. I almost think im in Spain! Thoroughly recommended.
