I am an avid Spanish restaurant goer, and this restaurant in terms of value for money in London is good as it gets. The food is excellent, and the selection of wines superb. The staff are very friendly and efficient, and the atmosphere makes you feel as if you have really entered a little bit of real spain in London. I recommend it to everyone.

I have been eating in Laxeiro many times. The food is lovely. I´ve been to birthdays, xmas parties, family do`s and can only say that it`s fab!

A real gem, don`t be put off by grumpy pants (the strange review). For me its a restaurant which i recommended to all my friends and definitely visit again as I have being doing for a long time.

Had a nice lunch here today. The beef in cheese sauce was very good. I have had better calamri, but overall pleasant and not too expensive. Our rose was good too. Nice atmosphere.

A disappointing experience, I booked a table in advance for 4 people for a friday night for 7,30. The minute we sat down they started to rush us to make sure that we ordered within 2 minutes of being seated. Only at 5 to nine we realized that our table had been booked for 9 pm, one and half hour afterwards and we were asked to leave when we were still finishing our food and wine!!! We asked the dessert menu but they said that they have to give the table to someone else!

The food was ok, but nothing special really and pricey. I'll get my tapas from somewhere else next time, that's for sure.

Meh. This is really mediocre Spanish food. I don't know if it's been taken over or just hit hard times, but trust me, you can expect nothing much from here. The reviews of this place from a few years ago praise the food. All I can say is we had 5 dishes and they were severely average in all but one case.

Spanish omelette - mediocre.

Squid - tough.

Chorizo - warm, ok, reasonable, nothing you couldn't get in a supermarket.

Pimientos del Padron- fine, nice enough.

Cochinillo - well, tasted nothing like real cochinillo (I've tried it several times in Spain) but this was very tender and tasty.

Service was fine, no banter or chit chat, kind of hurrying you along a bit.

Atmosphere - not really this place's forte, decor is spartan and modern.

Prices are hardly cheap at about £8 per racion.

All in all, I'd get my tapas from somewhere else next time.

Previous dining experiences in this restaurant have been extremely good. The food has been wonderful, and atmosphere good. One thing that has always been a constant let-down however has been the service.

However, my most recent experience compels me to write in. Booked a table in advance to be seated outside, but was told there was no availability, only for somebody walking in off the street 10 minutes later to be seated outside.

In between courses asked for the main course, paella hold for 10 minutes. This was blatantly disregarded and when served, accompanied with a "take it or leave it" comment.

The paella itself was tasteless and bland, and not to the standard of previous dishes.

In short, an extremely forgettable experience, and will not be going again.

This is Spanish food cooked to perfection, It's a real gem of a place, the variety on the menu is enormous and the food was delivered so quickly, Its a place where once you've been your addicted to and all other restaurants seem inferior. This is proper Spanish Tapas cooked and served by native Spaniards full marks!!

As a Spanish person living in London , Laxeiro felt like home from home for me. I tried all the traditional things on the menu like the chorizo , patatas bravas , gambas al ajillo (garlic prawns) , as well as other house specialities & I can honestly say that they where the tastiest tapas I have had in London so far . I have booked a table to visit again & will definitely make it a regular haunt.

We visited this restaurant recently based on the number of previously good reviews on this website. I booked about a week in advance and wasnt given any indication that we were being squeezed in. It was particularly dissapointing to be given the smallest possible table which was hardly big enough for one let alone two people. It was right in the middle of quite a small restaurant so all the staff had to squeeze past us to get to the other tables. Obviously we asked to move but all other tables were taken. We decided to stay because of the expectation of a really good meal. Unfortunately that was dissapointing as well, the food wasnt bad but we found it average at best and the service was adequate but not particularly friendly. All in all if you manage to get a good table this restaurant is ok but there are much better and we wouldnt go out of our way to eat here again.

Tried a couple of times to get a table here and it was always full so made a reservation for a Saturday night. I can see why this place is so popular: everything was perfectly cooked with excellent ingredients, good service and very friendly staff. I can't wait to go back.
