Went here a few weeks ago as I live close by and was interested to try. Had a really nice time! Nice to know there is a nice Spanish restaurant in Leytonstone! The service was very good and the food was good quality inexpensive Spanish cuisine.
I will definately visit again. And I think on certain nights they have a flamenco dancer performing.

My wife and I went to this restaurant last night (Wednesday). It was a grey, wet night and we arrived at 8.00 pm, one hour before our booking. Both the waiter and waitress greeted us warmly and asked us to sit wherever we wanted to. The atmosphere was already quite nice and I was hoping that we would have a very warm experience to combat the dull evening. We found the food well prepared and presented but not gripping, the service accommodating, the ambience pleasant and this certainly is not an expensive place to eat. The only two negatives were that the cutlery was dirty and had an off-putting stench and the garlic bread was poor. The spinach dish was marginal and lacked ambition. Certainly one to avoid. This was not a memorable night out and we left within an hour. However, my wife was glad that we went as she had been planning to sample this restaurant at some time. To me the true test is would I go back and would I recommended this place to others. The answer to the first is (not a resounding) yes, and I will one day take my teenage boys there for a Sunday buffet but I will not recommend this place to others unless someone specifically asks for a Spanish restaurant.

I used to live in Spain for a couple of years and this place is the one in London that comes closest to a proper Spanish restaurant in terms of both food and style. Only the staff don't seem to be or understand Spanish but who cares if the Tinto flows well and the Pescaditos are tasty...value for money is much better as well than in the Yuppie-tapas-places in Central London.

A refreshing change from the chain tapas restaurants, and it's nice to know you can get sizable quantities of good quality tapas for less than a small country's education budget. I found the food good but occasionally slightly too greasy. It was still good food and a nice atmosphere.

We visited this little gem last night and although he surrounding area may look like it is in need of a facelift (which I’m sure it will soon be receiving courtesy of the 2012 Olympics) I hope this place doesn’t change!
The Spanish themed décor was welcoming and comforting, and combined with the attentive staff, fantastic food and good atmosphere we had one of our best ever dining experiences.
The portions were generous and well priced (£12 for 3 tapas) and the bill came to a very reasonable £35 for 2 people with a jug of San Miguel. We will definitely be visiting again.

Elche is a very warm and welcoming restaurant, and very easy to get to. The staff are friendly and attentive to your needs and the service you receive from them is highly recommendable.
The decor inside is homely and unfussy. Simple wooden tables and chairs do the job perfectly with a few posters and prints adorning the walls to provide only the slightest of distractions from your meal.
The food when it arrived was tasty and we didn't have to wait long for it. My Mushroom Soup starter had a little too much parsley in it for my liking but was still very good, while my partner's Prawn Cocktail had a little too much cayenne pepper sprinkled onto it, but fortunately our selection of tapas for main course were without fault whatsoever.
The cost of the food was quite reasonably priced, although the wine we had as an accompaniment seemed a little pricey. That said, our overall opinion of Elche's was a positive one. We had a great meal in a lovely restaurant and we'll be back to sample it again in the future.
