This is an extremely friendly, reliable local restaurant serving authentic, traditional spanish food. It is not the best spanish food in London, it probably isn't the best spanish food in Islington but it is just as good as many places you could eat at in Madrid for the same price. Choose wisely and you will not be dissappointed - the chorizo and butter bean stew is perfect. But really, the food is not the point of El Molino - this is the Holloway Road so to those who were dissappointed with the food I would say: "what did you expect, in this location, at that price?".

Don't travel across town to El Molino but if you are in the area looking for a charming, relaxing evening out you could do a lot worse than visit El Molino.

I have been dining at this fine restaurant for the past 5 or so years and i come here before every arsenal home game and the food is so delightful and the atmosphere is welcoming, plus i feel at home because on game days the place is full of arsenal fans or as i like to say "Gunners". The second you walk in you are greeted by one of the waitress' and they will escort you to a free table.

They then return within a moments wait with your menu, and you then you can pick from the wide variety of Spanish tapas as well as full courses.

Definitely one of my favourite dining places.

I have been eating at this restaurant for the last four years with friends family and my partner. We have held many parties in Molinos and had a fantastic time every time. Me and my friends always meet up for dinner at christmas time. This year as always we went back to molinos, the atmosphere was buzzing, the service is unquestionable and the food was delicious as always. We ordered 22 tapas, all of different varieities and 2 bottles of Rioja Bordon Crianza, we had desserts and coffees and could find no fault in any. It is great value for money considering what me and my 7 friends ate and drunk, which for me also proves that El Molinos caters for everyone. The gentleman and his wife, as always, made me and my friends feel so welcome and they even put christmas crackers on everybodies table, for me its the little things that show how much your custom is appreciated time and time again whether you have been going there for years or as a passer by.

I was sad to have such tasteless spanish food, not a hint of garlic or even good olive oil. the blandest food I have had for a long time and totally disappointing. having read the excellent reviews we could not believe the reality of very tasteless food. Nice atmosphere however but go to jamon jamon or pradera for authentic food.give this place a miss.

I have been going to this restaurant for about 4 years now. The food is fantastic and the Rioja Crianza is fabulous. It is great value for money and i have taken my friends there and they loved it. The service is friendly and i always feel they can never do enough for you. Highly recommended for any occasion or if you just want a nice meal.

I ate here on a Sunday Lunch time and had a delicious meal. They had several excellent lunch time deals such as salmon with saute potatoes and chorizo in a bean stew for £4.95 each. We also had three seperate tapas dishes, two soft drinks, a glass of wine and a beer - which in total came to just under thirty pounds.

The atmosphere was good and the service very friendly and prompt. I've eaten in quite a few Spanish, (London) restaurants and this has to be one of the best. I've also lived in Northern Spain and can say that the tortilla espanola is just as good as those I ate in La Coruna.

I would highly recommend El Molino.

Me and my lovely partner's little treasure.

El Molino is a tiny, warm Spanish-Tapas restaurant on Holloway Road, N7.

It is always full of happy customers, the reasons being; the venue is authentic and adorable, the waitresses are (Spanish) are polite & professional and the food is gorgeous and brilliantly priced.

They bring olives & bread to the table at the start of every meal.

I order a handful of Tapas dishes and we all swap & share.

I am a strict vegetarian and there is a range of dishes for me, like breaded mushrooms with garlic mayonise. and spanish rice with vegetables.

The food is always brought to you speedily, even on weekends.

They always have a selection of home-made (or home style) deserts, including Tirimisu and cheese cake.

The prices are fantastic,a meal for 2 with wine costs us £32 the other day-amazing.

This restaurant in a success, I have dined there for years and will continue to take my partner on dates there, even after 3 years.

Enjoy!

I went there with my girlfriend on Sunday and it was mediocre at best.

There were two young girls serving who, whilst pleasant, were far from attentive. The food was average Spanish. Far from the quality of Jamon Jamon in Camden for example. We had the pulpo, chorizo en vino, house salad, croquettes and crab claws. The last two of these were particularly poor (the crab claws tasted almost entirely of dough and had virtually no crab) and the salad was uninspiring. In fairness the pulpo and chorizo were fine. I won't be rushing back.

Just booked up for tomorrow night, cannot wait. The food is fantastic and is only complimented by the service. Have been to a few Tapas restaurants and without doubt the "El Molino" is the best by far. If you are partial to great tasting food at really good prices and gorgeous waitresses, you just cannot go wrong by booking up and eating there.
