Lovely, cosy atmosphere, nice food, nice staff and good wine. My favorite tapas are calamares, pulpo, chicken croquettes, mussels with garlic and cream, and prawns which will be complimented always with a nice crispy Bordon Crianza bottle.

The food is good though not outstanding. Suspect that it would be better if we did not go on a Satrurday nights, when it is always busy.

The service is the best I have ever had in a London restaurant. Friendly, informal and thoughtful. An instant greeting when we arrived, food always brought together. When we have asked to be served quickly because we were going to the cinema we have been. When we weren't in a hurry, service was just the right pace despite it being busy. Offered to move us in case a large party next to us was disturbing us- it wasn't. An air of being geuniely appreciative of our custom.

Great fan of this place.

Have been to this restaurant twice and can say that, while it's not bad, it certainly is not amazing. Having been a chef for over ten years in my previous life, I have to admit am quite exacting when it comes to food quality and this place just does not excite me. The chargrilled lamb cubes are good, although they always seem to have a rather strong taste. Their pulpo a la gallega I found to be salty, bland and uninspiring. In general, decent, but far from being the best tapas bar around.

I strongly disagree with Dickson - Wans reveiw ( Tuesday 19th)

I have been to El Molino many times both with my partner & as part of a large table party. We have always found the staff friendly & helpful, as for the food what planet is he on it's

one of the best tapas bars in London. the food is great. I go to Spain every year as my partner is Spanish and this reminds me of a little corner of Spain.

When there for lunch, place was empty I ordered the liver, when it arrived, it was over cooked,to the point of being, like rubber. Food was bland, I can cook better. My family owned resturant and the food nor the service was to justify the price of around 35 pounds for lunch. There are way better options around Holloway.

The only saving grace, was the potatoes, the waiting staff a miserable lady, didnt want to even talk to us. The only person that did talk to us was the man toward the meal saying thank you, after I gave him our debit card. I felt robbed. Never going back again, one tip go next door to Indian Ocean.

Loved it! We spent 52 quid on 6 tapas, a dessert, water and wine which is a real bargain considering how good the food was. We had bean stew, gambas pil pil, asparagus, sardines, stuffed peppers, plate of meat and cheese and poached pears. Very friendly. service and good atmosphere. Recommended!

I just went to el molino in holloway road with my husband. I had such a lovely time really enjoyed it loved the food. I had some tapas, I am coming back again to try out the other tapas because they have a wide range to choose from and main courses. Service was really fast and the waitress very lovely people very friendly.

this is an unpretentious, affordable local restaurant where the food is of reliable quality. The tapas menu is long and varied, and so you can always try something new at every visit.

On weekdays they have a fabulous special offer: any (and I mean ANY) three tapas plus a soft drink for £6.95. This is truly outstanding value, considering that the helpings - though slightly smaller than those you would normally get - are still sufficient to provide a satisfying lunch. It is a good way of sampling the various dishes with a view to ordering normal-sized portions of your favourites on an evening visit.

If I have one criticism of El Molino is that inside it is quite dark, and it can feel oppressive: however, I don't know whether anything can be done about it as there may be planning restrictions preventing structural changes. The cavernousness, however, is more than made up for by the friendly service.

Highly recommended.

My name is Sergio Garcia and i live in holloway road for the previous 5 years and my father had journied down from spain to stay with me for a week and what better place to take him but El Molino's, he loved every bit he even said it felt like home because of the atmosphere. We had a paella for two for the main course and for starters i ordered gambas pil pil and chorizzo and it was simply delicious.

It was worth the money all in all El Molinos is a great resturant.

Lastly i would just like to say i totally disagree with the writer below me she is obsurd for writing such a poor evalutation of the resturant. As you can see from all the other previous evaluations something just doesn't add up with hers.
