La Cucina Di Soteri

What can i say - if you like a little bit of food with your salt this is the place to eat! There was so much salt in the pasta dish I ordered my natural reaction was to spit it out! It was exactly the same with the meal my fellow diner had ordered, even the garlic bread was smothered in salt. I can only imagine the reason for such over indulged seasoning was due to the fact that the chef has no idea how to cook a decent meal - in my experience, the addition of salt is to add flavour - God knows how dreadful the food would have tasted without it. Suffice to say - all food was sent back and we ended up having a thoroughly enjoyable meal in the Meixcan Restuarant round the corner - may I suggest that anyone thinking of dining at La Cucina Di Sorti save your taste buds and do the same!

I have since found out that a friend had an equally disasterous visit to this restuarant. After ordering the Calamari starter and Garlic Bread Starter, their Main Course was brought up first. When the waiter was challenged on this his response was "Oh, did you want the Calamari first then???!!!!!!" Now - i've never been to waiter school, but even I don't think i'd make that mistake! After taking the main course away to discuss with the Chef they were given a rather marvelous show by said Chef, going slightly mental about food being returned (honestly - this can't possible be the first, second or even 100th time food has been sent back) The Kitchen is in full view of the Diners so you'd think the Chef would try and contain himself!

Now I know why that when we visited this restaurant we were only 1 of 2 tables occupied.

A bit of advice for the owner of this restaurant - sack the Chef and invest in a half decent one! Or at least one that knows the meaning of the word moderation!
