Vasis Restaurant

I've been going to Vasis for 10 years or so and this is the first time I've read or written a review about them. The fact that I return time and again speaks for itself. Then again I'm not surprised that it isn't everyone's choice - well, not for those who take life and food too seriously anyway. Fact is, this is a true (Cypriot) Greek restaurant run by a Greek family who run it as they like and it's for you to enjoy everything on their terms. Somehow no different to restaurants in Greece maybe?

Food? An excellent variety, usually excellent and no charge for extras.

Service? Very prompt, be sure to take the (gratis) sense of humour with a pinch of salt. Join in with it and you'll have a very jolly evening.

I have visited this place in hope for a good food and was very disappointed.

The bread was frozen and still cold inside, when I asked for a fresh one, I was told by a waiter that I will have to pay for extra bread and it will be the same as the one I already have. But he did say it with a smile.

Our starters were OK, but nothing special. Meat was not fresh by look and it did not have much taste either. Desserts were very nice though.

Overall, I will not recommend this place to anyone, there are much better places to eat in the City.

The poor reviews on this restaurant are astonishing.. have been eating here regularly for the last 4 years and the food is always, fresh and well prepared, hot and the sea bass is always excellent. Friends often ask me to take them and the lamb and pork as been great too. My daughter loves the salad and bullys me because she doesn't get it like that at home.... Keep on going Vasis

Last week I went to that restaurant and I'm really disappointed! Food was cold, tasteless and seemed to be unfresh. Service was horrible- the old guy serving food was really rude! I won't go there anymore and I'd rather you to avoid that place! There are many other lovely greek restaurants in that area.

Went to this restaurant 9.02.11. Looking forward to typical cypriot food.

What a disappointment, this has got to be the worse meal i have ever had whilst dining out.

Haloumi was deep fried in old fat. The chicken kebab was to be served with a salad. When the main arrived the salad consisted of a small leaf of lettuce, a slice of tomato and a slice of cucumber.

A typical salad from cyprus has always consisted of dressing, feta, tomatoes, cucumber and onion - fresh and vibrant. The 'roast potatoes' were deep fried also. The whole meal was so dry and tasteless other than the lingering taste of old fat.

What a shame that a restaurant can get away with people this standard of food.

It fails its beautiful country that provided fresh, well cooked cuisine. Shame on you!!!

Delightful atmosphere, attentive and friendly wait staff, delicious traditional greek dishes from starter to dessert and extremely reasonable bill at the end. What more can anyone ask? We'll be back!

I went there a few days ago with some friends and all of us were very dissapointed! The food wasnt tasty at all and the staff wasnt nice. Very poor service. We wont be back!

Went to this restaurant with a group of 6, found the food incredibally tasty and fresh. I have know this restaurant for many years and would recommend this Vasis to any food lover. I had the fresh king prawns for starters and they were to die for. For my main I had a well cooked Fish ( Seabass ) with fresh veg and potatoes.

Both the Service and atmosphere was amazing. Very friendly and helpful and would suggest you try it your self before you believe me.

Hats off to Vasis for yet another great evening.
