The Glamorgan

My girlfriend has been raving about The Glamorgan for ages and last night we finally went there to eat together. In a nutsheel, the food is fantastic and very very generous. I started with king prawns in garlic oil which was served with lovely warm bread and an olive oil with caramelised balsamic dip, the waiter even brought extra bread so my girlfiend could share with no prompting. For main I had the burger. Well I've eaten some great burgers in the many gastro pubs around clapham but this was in a difference league, the burger was enormous and the mince was so succulent and finely minced, it was lovely. The hand cut chips were fabulous and again in abundance. My girlfriend had the Moroccan Chicken Skewers, the chicken was lovely and tender with a wonderful marinade, and again there was plenty. This pub is truly one of Croydon's best kept secrets. The staff were very helpful and extremely friendly, we also met the chef who I think may also be the govenor, a very nice and friendly chap who talked through his dishes with pride and you can sense the same passion for producing good food when you enjoy your meal. 10/10 from me.
