One of the most welcoming pubs in the area, in my opinion. Attracts a nice mix of locals with its comfy sofas, roaring fire, fairy lights, and a sensibly priced menu of pub classics. I believe it was semi-recently taken over by a young couple and they seem to be doing a good job of restoring it to its former glory. Ales are well kept, there are drinkable wines in all price brackets, and if you're peckish you can have 3 things from their bar snacks menu for just £9. The pork and haggis Scotch egg with piccalilli is highly recommended!
