This is a nice pub, but I think terming it a 'gastro pub' is a bit much. The food is passable but overpriced and overrated.

I would agree with a previous reviewer that you should stick to snacks. A great sausage roll for £3 is far better than a very average roast for £12.

My favourite boozer in London. I work nearby and often go for lunch. This visit was at night. I always forget how busy it gets - but it makes for a nice atmosphere.

Guinness was good. Had rare roast beef, dauphinoise made with golden beetroot and watercress - really delicious and unusual.

Apple crumble was very good - heavy on the apple, loads of double cream - just what the doctor ordered. Well, maybe not mine - my cholesterol is too high.

I love this place.
