The Chancery Bar & Kitchen

I have become a bit of a regular at the Chancery. Its a bit out of the way, bit of a hidden gem really!! But its welcoming, the staff are friendly and a good atmosphere make it a comfortable place to eat and drink. The food is excellent, varied and value for money. Fast and attentive service as well, good selection of beer and wine and very comfortable surroundings make it a very difficult place to leave at times! Good for viewing for T.V sports and social nights out!

They also sponsor a ladies football team. Who, when there, tend to add a certain something to the evenings atmosphere!! Highly recommended!

Went in for the first time on wednesday ( 14th nov ) night, although i live near by it's easy to miss as it is on lllile road and i wouldnt normaly walk in that direction. It is a large bar with probably about 20 big tables, some couches in a small private area and a real fireplace that was full of coals and burning nicely. there is also a huge garden at the rear that will be great in the summer, and a covered area for smokers with heaters with about 5 tables. the service was fast and freindly at the bar, they have a good range of beers, and the wine list looked decent. i ordered the rack of lamb and although i bit on the small side was cooked to perfection and delicious, well worth the £12.95 price tag.

i wish i had discovered this place sooner as it is far better than the other offerings in the area and i will be a regular from now on.
