The Blacksmith's Arms

Have been coming to this pub for food for many years. The thai curry has always been authentic. Ordered takeaway last week, one curry, one fried rice and one pad thai. Standard seems to have gone down hill since the pub was reopened, very disappointing. Curry was very watery, not much taste. Special fried rice (with pineapple and prawns) was GBP13, which is ridiculous even for a sit down restaurant, let alone a pub in Rotherhithe.

My husband and I stayed visited the Blacksmith's Arms at Rotherhithe in July 2011. We were very impressed by it. On entering the establishment, you feel you are in a traditional english bar. However, on passing through to the rear, you enter a Thai Restaurant. On first entering this part of the building, you have no inkling that this is going to be a fantastic restaurant. Only on being seated, perusing the menu and receiving your meal are you made fully aware of what a rare, fabulous night you are about to have. The food is fantastic - I cannot praise it enough. The authentic Thai tastes are to die for. The prices are realistic for London - in fact, for anywhere. This a most fabulous eating experience based in a very informal, unpretentious setting. We liked it so much we ate there the following evening too (equally impressive). Next time we visit London, we will definitely return.
