I brought an old friend to this untested haunt for lunch last Thursday, and almost immediately regretted my choice... The place has a strange grey pallor about it, and is beset by a languid atmosphere. Onto the service: after sitting there for a good ten minutes, I waved to get a waitress's attention... She shot me a sour expression, then went back to wiping her glasses. Finally, my friend managed to flag down one of the waiters, who took our order with a world-weary sigh.

When our plates arrived, I was confronted with two microwave chicken fajitas plus some limp salad and the tiniest pat of bland guacamole. My friend fared somewhat better with his large pork sausage, fried egg and biscuit, but by his own admission, he will eat anything! The sauce in my fajita tasted cheap and artificial, but they still charged me ten pounds for the privilege... I could only stomach one of the fajitas; I asked for the other one to be put in a doggy bag, and gave it to a homeless man on the way home.

This was my first experience of Colombian food in London, and frankly, I wish I could start all over again. Don't come here unless you want to pay Central London prices for questionable food and indifferent service.

Mozzarella salad was served with cheddar, paella Valencia was microwaved as well as being tasteless (and the chicken was deep fat fried). The vegetables which accompanied the steak were still frozen, as were the veg which came with the stuffed aubergine (which was smothered in congealed cheese). When I (very politely) complained to the owners I was aggressively rebuffed and told I didn't know what I was talking about - the fact that the place is always empty goes some way to exonerate me. I work in the area and really did hope that this may be a rough diamond, instead its just plain rough.

I really don’t understand why the pubs and (some of the) restaurants around Borough market serve such awful food. Surely they should be using the market as a catalyst and taking advantage of the footfall of starving food lovers.
