Gourmet Burger Kitchen (East Dulwich)

I've been here a couple of times with family members, and been disappointed both times for the same reasons. Chips, a £2.50 for a small bowl, were tasteless and on the cool side of warm. The burgers, if served in America, would be returned to the kitchen. Here we know no better and accept what we are given, even in a restaurant with 'gourmet' in the title. My cheese-burger was accurately cooked (medium rare), but the meat had little flavour, and the seasoning was dull. And again, it could have been warmer. My two family companions felt much the same.
Overall, dull and quite expensive. The room was cool also. Service was good - a smile goes a long way. Don't welcome the concept of paying before you eat - but perhaps the above comments go some way to explaining that policy. If I had been given the bill at the end, I would probably have asked for a reduction. Return a third time? Er, no - I think not
