La Tarantella

I am Italian and a passionate cook myself. I have been to La Tarantella several times and it is always a pleasure to return.
Food is extremely well made, unpretentious and with good quality ingredients. The place is tiny but with a lively atmosphere and extremely friendly and accommodating staff. We like to sit downstairs to watch the action at the pizza oven and to have a little chat with Francesco, one of the owner and pizza maker.
Among my favourite dishes, the pappardelle with porcini and clams and the home made panna cotta, an absolute delight! The wine list, although short, offers some good value, especially the Montepulciano and a mouth-watering Falanghina (a perfect match to the Pappardelle!).
Tarantella is a local little gem!

My husband and I were in London for the day and found the Tarantella by accident whilst looking for another restaurant. So pleased we did.
The decor is simple and informal but the service and food are fabulous.
We had the set lunch with starters and pizzas- (one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten)- and I had the limoncello semi-freddo for dessert, which was yummy! Everything was freshly home-made.
The waitress told us they have only been open for 4 months. I wish them all the best-they deserve to succeed.
Thoroughly recommend it. Will go again next time we're in Chiswick.

My husband and I stumbled upon this place while looking for somewhere to celebrate our anniversary and are so glad we did.
Yes it's small and unglamorous, but that made it all the more real. The food and service were fantastic. All the staff were Italian and the chef came over to chat to us.
Authentic, welcoming, friendly and delicious food; we will definitely return next time we're in London.

Being 1/2 Italian, I know how real Italian food should taste. I have been a very regular customer, going at least once a week for several years now. This amazing little restaurant offers the best Italian food I have ever tasted in London. The service is 5* all the time and I feel like I am visiting family.
You will find that after one visit, you will keep going back for more. Not to be missed
As for being a hole in the wall!!! yes it is small, but who cares, the food & service are amazing.
If I win the lottery, I'll buy them a bigger place lol

We did not finally eat here ,so can't say much about the food.
This is a tiny hole in the wall place. We did not know about this before we went, basing our decision on the positive reviews.
It is cramped and extremely noisy and most of the restaurant is in a basement where you are assaulted with the music played for the staff presumably and the clattering of dishes and various implements as these are passed forward from the kitchen into the middle of the restaurant.
We could not hear ourselves think, never mind have a conversation. so,we upped and left.
The menu is of the plastic coated sheets variety.
I have rated the food above average even though we did not order, because the website does not allow a rating of only atmosphere.

A tiny but wonderful, informal restaurant with 'proper' italian food, good spread between vegetarian and meaty options, great pasta, very friendly, down to earth staff and owners, a sense that you really are in a little bit of italy. They remember my odd preferences for ingredients as soon as we walk in, and the good news is they don't charge the earth. Nothing like any of the chain Italians whether cheap or expensive. They really are the best kept secret in W4. I'm reluctant to send this in in case more people descend upon them, but I think they very much deserve to be mentioned in the guide.

I go to this restaurant almost every Saturday with my family. The food is very good and it's cooked properly as all 3 owners (cook, pizza man and manager) are Italian. I have yet to have a bad meal there and we have been visting the place since it opened nearly two years ago.
Without a doubt, the best Italian in Chiswick and I have tried them all.
It's also child friendly. Francesco, the 'pizzaiolo' (pizza maker) will let small children make their own pizzas if it's not busy.
They will also cook whatever you want, if they have the ingredients to hand. You don't have to order strictly from the menu.
Also, I always find Italians eating in there. Always. So if that is not a good indicator, I don't know what is.
I highly recommend the tomato garlic bread or bruschetta as a starter and either the lasagna (totally home made), gnocchi or spaghetti with oil, garlic and chili as a main. The wine list, although short, is also decent . The Montepulciano they have is very good value.
Don't expect anything fancy; tables are wooden and napkins are made of paper.....but it has great food and atmosphere. Don't miss it.
