Went here with 12 friends. We all ate different meals and all concluded that the food was awful. I had the Thai green curry chicken and the curry tasted like oily water with pepper. If you order a Martini cocktail do not expect the glass to be more than half full as apparently they make it with the exact amount of each ingredient (by free hand, not using a measurer) and if they were to add more to fill the glass the taste of the cocktail would be ruined.

Overall, very nice venue but rubbish food and very stingy with their drink measures. I would not recommend this place.

We booked for a meal at Katana for Saturday 25th. When we arrived the place wasn't very busy. We was shown to our table and given a menu, other people that came in afterwards were given a paper menu which was a 50% off menu (this was what we booked under) but we were never given the option. When we questioned it at the end the woman said that it would be automatically deducted, then the manager came over and said we had pressed the wrong button, trying to imply this was our fault. Eventually he agreed and adjusted our bill, but we declined on giving the optional tip even though the staff were ok. The food was average, service ok all nothing special.

We had a special offer meal 3 courses for £12.99 per person, me and my Nan went their as a special treat for her birthday. Before we had our dinner we sat in the bar my Nan had a berry sensation and I had a chocolate martini, the atmosphere in the bar was very relaxing with candles lit. We had our dinner booking for 5.00pm, I had the chicken skewers with peanut dipping sauce for starters, roast duck and lychee red curry and singapore fried noddles for my main and for dessert chocolate brownie with icecream. My nan had vegetarian spring rolls with chilli dipping sauce for starters, beef curry and rice for the main and icecream for dessert. I thought this was excellent value for money, all meals were large positions and we were encouraged to share our food which was good, the service was fantastic, we did not have to wait very long between meals. I would definately go back to this resaurant again. I would highly recommend it to anyone.

Extremely disappointing! Orginally booked for 6:30, then phoned to reschedule for a later time, which we were assured was fine, only to arrive at the restaurent to find that our table had been given to someone else. The hostess was extremely rude with no apology or explanation of how this error had occured. Just seemed irritated that we had the audacity to complain. Very very rude! Although, the Manager did manaage to find us a table, we were too angry to want eat there or to spend our money there! I would NOT recommend it to anyone.

went to this restaurant with a friend before going to the theatre. got a pretty good special of 11 pounds 50 for a main and side, as well as a glass of cava. the cava was great, and my main dish of duck breast in a red lychee curry sauce was spicy and tasty (even if the duck was a bit dry). the follow up glass of jewel zinfandel i ordered was horrid, as was my side dish of "lightly fried pumpkin and garlic". it was actually more like pumpkin potato chips (or crisps to you brits). regardless, we got out of there for a resonable amount of money, so it was worth doing.

We went for the £3 lunch last Sunday and have to say that this deal is exceptionally good value for money- serving sizes are huge! HOWEVER, the service was just awful. We had used the on-line reservation system to book in for 14:45 (the last sitting for lunch) and the website clearly states that you have 2 hour dining slots. Whilst waiting for our friend to arrive in the bar downstairs, it was made very clear that it was a problem that we were there at that time. Staff swooped in upon the 3 of us when our friend arrived and told us before even getting upstairs to the restaurant that we would have be out by 4pm. Our waitress was surly and impatient, with my empty starter plate being taken off me as the last spring roll went in my mouth- I was still chewing. She then proceeded to hover over us waiting for us to finish. From the time we were seated at 14.45 to the time our starters and mains came out was 20 minutes in total. Not relaxing, not pleasant.

I organised a suprise birthday party for my girlfriend during January and i was extremely impressed with Katana. As we had over 30 guests we opted for the set party menu, which at £15.95 per person was very reasonable (especially for such a central city location) The food portions were huge and very tasty, service was outstanding and it was a great night. I would strongly recommend Katana for either an intimate dinner of a large group booking

We have been to this restaurant several times and it has gone from being fantastic to just very ordinary. The meal deals are good value but the service has gone down hill, it wasn't busy when we were there but getting a drink in the restaurant took 30 mins. Check the bill also, ours has been wrong the last 3 times we have gone there. The food is tasty though and the deals are good value.

4 of us wandered into Katana last Tuesday, it was full - good sign. The 2 starters were fab, moist chicken sate skewers and fishcakes, however the jasmin tea was like dishwater. Downhill with the main meal which was mediocre..lots of it but fairly hot and tasteless. Usual OPTIONAL service charge added to bill but the meal wasnt great so we underpaid by 97p...the waiter was afronted and challenged us to pay the full amount. Probably bar downstairs is fine for drinks, but we went elsewhere.
