Sushi arrived looking battered from journey! they got my order wrong and there is hardly any fish in the temaki handrolls or crab in the futomaki.......Think this is the last time I order from them as keeps getting worse!!!

I have been going here for just over a year now.

I disagree with the other reviews here. The atmosphere may not match some of the more pricey restaurants I've been to in London, but I go here more for the quality of the food. And the price might be high, but what you get is quality. They clearly use high quality ingredients as it always tastes superb. The fish is real fresh and the presentation is beautiful.

When you think about it you'll probably spend a fiver on some tiny nasty sushi set from Pret a manger or the likes which has been prepped somewhere miles away about 5 days before! The portions here are much larger and as said before the quality is top. You get what you pay for.

I have had to wait for deliveries before, but this is probably because they are busy with lots of orders. another sign that it is clearly popular with it's client base.

somethings to try should you want to go there are the tuna tempura roll. The soft shell crab temaki. the nigiris- particularly love their avocado nigiris. Sea bass tempura is real nice too. and the Somen salad with crab is delicious!

Keep up the good work Sushi 54, from a happy customer :o)

This lovely little place further down the Lower Richmond Road appeared very inviting from the outside.

However, the food was just OK...nothing amazing and really expensive.

The service was bordering on both rude and servers that simply didn't care about their paying customers...no smiles....no thank you...please come again...

Shame as a good sushi restaurant in this part of Putney is needed...

Perhaps they'll improve their standards....or just rely upon their home delivery(which was really busy...)

Afraid to say the managers consistently appalling customer service over the period I've been a customer lets this place down to the point where I will not return.

This is a fantastic little gem of a restaurant. The food is fresh and delicious, service is perfect (attentive but not cloying), nice atmosphere and fairly priced. Others have commented that you can get more for less money elsewhere; this is technically true, but it's irrelevant and pointless to compare a place like this to some joint serving massive portions at rock-bottom prices. I find the prices here perfectly acceptable and given the quality of the food, actually very reasonable.

I've eaten here many times and heartily recommend the place.

I am sorry James i completely disagree, i recently went with some friends and the food was to die for. i can honestly hand on heart say that that is some of the best sushi i have ever had and worth every penny. Those soft shell crabs are amazing.

i will definitely be going back and recommending it.

Living only a few hundred meters away I decided to try Sushi 54. Having rarely seen patrons in the restaurant but from time to time scooters delivering I decided to test then out and collected takeaways last night. Here are my comments

PRESENTATION: Looked pretty, but a terrible waste of packaging. Sushi for two we ended up with five mini pizza boxes and a tub? I guess mini pizza boxes used for sushi are never really going to work. Two mini spring rolls in one pizza box - environmentally a definite no no.

QUALITY: Presentation can only be faulted on wastage and an imbalance between, what you order to eat versus plenty of nice but slightly unnecessary decoration

FOOD: Everything seemed fresh, however the Maki collapsed in your hands (rice not quite right), veg tempura was bitty and decorative hardly edible and everything seemed to be on a smaller scale than I’ve experienced elsewhere

PRICE: Overpriced, I’ve had sushi in the West End and South Ken with table service for less - £38 for a couple (no drinks, delivery or service)

CONCLUSION: As a regular consumer of sushi I may have been spoilt over the years but either way I would have preferred less of a fuss with side salads and wasted packaging and rather better quality and something a little more substantially - £40 (no drinks, delivery or service) should have swamped an average couple?

Would I go back? No

Would I recommend Sushi54? No, we live in London one of the greatest cities in the world – we have choice!
