If you want somewhere different - an unusual place to chill, with REAL food - this is the place for you! Casalinga Disperata floats close to Richmond Bridge and is a small, rustic restaurant on a boat. There are a few boat restaurants around (including one on the other side of the bridge) but this one is far more charming than any other I have seen - currently it is filled with armfuls of fresh daffodils - and seems to be aimed at people who like to eat rather than at the tourist crowd.

The food is quite simply WONDERFUL! A simple menu with simple ingredients, prepared with visual appeal and taste in mind. Garlic bread with chunks of real garlic, drizzled with olive oil and fresh rosemary... crepes oozing with cheese and garnished with cracked pepper and fresh herbs... cakes that look and taste as though your Italian grandmother made them this morning.

Sit on the deck and watch the sunset, or sit inside for cosiness, but if you like real food and quietly attentive service then definitely pay this place a visit.
