What can i say? I read all the reviews, they were all good, but we are dissatisfited!

It's more a bar then a restaurant,it's so noisy.Kitchen looks unhygienicaly,by the typical smell trom there we new that someone has ordrerd a fish.

We had fishcake and mussels as well.Deep fried fishcakes didn't have any taste, simple dressing on the salad-oil.However desert and cocktails were good.

Our design is never to go back there again-that's what reviews are for, aren't they?

We had an excellent evening at The Grove. If you want a good neighbourhood restaurant with excellent food and great ambience, this is the place to go. Our party enjoyed steaks, monkfish, seabass and lamb. It was all perfectly prepared and presented. Would highly recommend The Grove for a lovely evening out.

I agree with some of recent comments above the Grove's food. It's simply delicious. They only serve fresh food and apparently change menu twice daily. I love their Argentinean grass fed (pampas plains) steak but can't eat it all the time so I opt for a variety of fresh fishes most often. I usually top it with their organic wines which start from £11.95. Service is fine and waiters are humble. I also feel very comfortable there having only a coffee and reading daily press or watching football or rugby in their function room upstairs. The Grove is large and airy but still warm and cozy and is definitely my favorite outing even when I am broke and can't afford a three course meal.

We went to the Grove last night, after a play at the Lyric. We both ordered the steak (ribeye) and chips, and a bottle of South African Cab Sauv. Throughout the meal the service was really friendly and fast, though this may be because it was 10 pm and the restaurant bit was only 1/4 full. But we had no complaints - food was brought quickly, the steak was very tasty and tender, and the chips hot and plentiful. Only problem was not having any space left for pudding! Bill was £57 including service and a bottle of water.

The service was adequate, the interior also. I was very impressed with the selection of food for the christmas menu. I choose the Rib eye steak which was accompanied by a chargrilled Argentinean with chips - Very tasty indeed. Then i was given some mince pies for FREE. I thought "OH MY GOD, it's christmas already!". I wanna go back to see the Sunday lunch menu, my mate told me they do a good stewed Chiliean with dumplins. YUMMY IN MY TUMMY!

Agree with others here that the food is excellent, but let down by really amateurish service. The steaks here are the best I've had - outstanding! Could do better with the veggie options. And what's with that annoying practice the bar-staff have of handing back change on a plate? I only ordered a pint mate (and it was 3 quid!), there's no tip for that.....

As a local I would love to say nice things about the Grove ... the food is of a very high standard however it is also quite pricey.

The service is atrocious!! More often than not the staff do not speak very good English and if they are doing something when you approach the bar they will simply ignore you until they have finished what they were doing ... I call that very rude!!
