I really don't understand why this pub is getting good reviews. I went here a couple of months ago, one sunday. We chose the vegetarian option, described on the menu as roast vegetable pie. After a long, long wait, during which time another couple received the wrong food, the pies turned up swimming in oil, with anaemic non-roasted potatoes, and a few boiled turnips. Neither of us could finish them. Truly the worst food I have had in years.

I went over to London just before the holidays and tried out North Nineteen. the food was excellent. Traditional English food that was prepared better than I'v ever had in London before. there are two separate areas of the bar and a quaint sitting room just off the bar. Wasn't able to stay there because they were already booked, but I 'll try again next time. I would definitely recommend this pub to anyone that thinks traditional Engish food is bland. This pub will change your thinking.

I first tried out the North Nineteen When it first opened its doors, and found that the atmosphere there was welcoming and friendly, which encourage me to frequent there more often, I had tried the food and found that the quality was excellent and the good portion size was value for money the service was good, and going on what I had experienced I recently held a dinner party there for 20 guests, the comments that have come back to me from my guest have been nothing but praise,
so I would not hesitate to hold any other functions there,

What a transformation!!!! North Nineteen has been changed for the better considering the state it used to be in.. There's a large choice of beers, a reasonable wine list but more importantly a quality food menu. Being French, I usually don't eat in pubs since it's usually "heart attack" type of cuisine but after glancing at the menu I thought I'd give it a go. I was pleasently surprised since the dish I had (Chicken breast) was beautifully presented and very tasty. Apparently this is the "new Bristish cuisine". Bring it on guys, I could eat & drink there any day of the week.
One last thing about this pub is that they seem to do regular gigs on thursday & friday nights and the one I saw a few weeks ago was really good. Definitely be back again.

Excellent food and the best kept London Pride I've had in years. Very friendly pub and we couldn't fault the meal we had and the service was great.
We have lived round here for ages and North Nineteen knocks spots off anything else in the area.
Miles better than St. John's!
At the moment there is an offer where you get a bottle of very nice wine with a 2 course meal for 2.
This place deserves to do well. Try it, you'll like it!

I've lived near this pub for a long time and I never used the place while it was called the Enterprise due to it's rough nature but am delighted to say that i have started to become quite a regular due to the friendly atmosphere and the absolutely superb British food served. The quality and size of the Sunday roast will take some beating in any part of the country!
Not many pubs in the area serve such quality at affordable prices like this place. The decor is modern and trendy and has such a nice feel that i feel comfortable to walk in on my own at any time which as a woman you can not do in many pubs, especially round the Holloway area.
For those of you in to sport (not me particularly) they do show sky sports but as they have a seperate bar it does not interfere with the normal pub feel i have grown to enjoy.
I would recommend this pub to anyone who enjoys good food, drink, music and sports alike, long may it continue!

A group of us went to North Nineteen for a meal and I can honestly say the food was superb - the menu was wide-ranging but everything was cooked fresh and to order. I had fresh whitebait with garlic mayonaise and then steak and kidney pie - it was really delicious. There were about ten of us and the staff worked really hard to serve us all and get all the food out so quickly. The wine list was very reasonable too.
Absolutely the best gastro-pub in the area !

I found North Nineteen by accident, while visiting a friend who lives close by. She had never been inside before as it's only recently been reopened after apparently being closed for a while. We're definitely going back soon as the food was fantastic and we'd like to check out the live music advertised.

Located equidistance between Hornsey Road and Holloway Road, this would be local pub is a genuine oasis in the heart of North London. The atmosphere inside is warm and inviting with seating and rooms to suit most tastes. The service is friendly and welcoming and is first class service when it comes to the quality and standard of the food. The menu has been carefully put together taking in to account the season and availability of the produce whilst ensuring everything is cooked fresh on the premises (even the aioli, which i sampled on one occasion when i ordered the whitebait starter). On a recent visit to this establishment my friend ordered the "fish and chips" which included home made tartare sauce, minted mushy peas and hand cut proper chips, which in my book are always a big winner. The portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable with an average cost of a starter and dessert at less than £5 and the main dishes averaging out at around £10. They also stock a good selection of wines and beers again at reasonable prices. All in all, on the occasions that I have frequented the pub, I have never been disappointed and have verbally recommended it to numerous friends and family. Definitely worth a look.
