Guys this place is simply amazing.

I usually eat at the top end indian restaurants around London where the bills at the end of the evening are also top-end... and this beats most of those places hands down.

Desi tadka has: Great food, great prices, great customer service and a special atmosphere almost like being back in the Punjab.

This restaurant simply MUST be on your list of indian restaurants to visit list!

I will definitely be going again.

My favourite indian restaurant in England. I drop in after work and get a take away normally.

We've done blind taste tests of most Southall restaurants and this one comes up best for taste, and value is good compared to the others in this area, and excellent compared to Hammersmith / Chiswick which is where I live.

There's parking round the back.

Not sure where the reviewer on the main page eats normally, but this place is a down to earth back to basics restaurant.

A group of us go there all the time and we love it there, as do all the other people who go there.

The food is cheap and usually very good, on the odd occasion we have not been happy and sent it back, there has never been any problems as long as you explain what you dont like.

You can pick up your own alcohool at the shop on the corner and the restarant will provide wine glasses and an ice bucket, in fact they will bend over backwards for you.

All that is great, then add to that the vibe that is in there and the buzz!

Part of this is provided with the Punjabi music that is on all the time you are there and the traditionally dressed waiters. Every half hour or so they crank up the volume and the waiters break out in to some seriously desi banghra, the great thing is that half the people eating there get up and dance with them too...it's very fun to watch and even more to actually join in. Go on try it and lose yourself a bit.

THi splace is a great night out, if your indian it's great, if you want to show your non-indian friends what sociable extroverted and fun people Punjabi people are then this is probably the place.

The only other place you can do that is one of those dinner and dance things! You know you've been there or thought about it;-)

So enjoy and dont be put off by negative comments by some reviewers on here!!

After the recommendations, I decided to visit. I did like the surroundings and the waiters seem friendly. Its not really the best dining experience I've had.

There were 5 of us and out which 4 diners had there starters and were just finishing off their starters and mines turns up.

There was a dance in between and I must say that's really good.

Moving onto the food, I wouldn't say i'm a picky eater but I have had food from various continents and countries and must say having a meal in a indian restaurant in Boston (cross atlantic) or perhaps London Derry was a better experience

The Dall Makhani, Come on you are having a laugh, It was dall without the makhani and definetly something that was cooked in a pressure cooker 1/2 hour before opening time. It was still runny, and had no taste what so ever.

Moving on, the Saag panner was very simple, there wasn't any traditonal taste in the dish, seemed like there was some frozen spinach thrown into a pan, a tad bit of panner and served....

Personally I wouldnt go back and although there are many positive recommendations, They could have had a different chef or a million other things...

I didnt try the meat dishes, So perhaps somebody else can fill in...

Good cheap food, excellent atmosphere, the ability to get something made 'a little extra special' and the waiters are always willing to be part of the celebrations!!

Parking a bit of a problem but well worth it once you are in.
