For many years, if you wanted kabab that you could call Persian, you would go to Aloonak. All other Persian restaurants in London served you something that was closer to McDonald's hamburger (or kotlet!!!) than kabab. I grew up in Tehran, and having eaten in many Iranian restaurants in London, I could tell you they were all (apart from aloonak) pretty rubbish.
Then came the new generation of Persian restaurants, serving proper Iranian kabab (as you get in the likes of Alborz, Nayeb and Shandiz in Iran). first one was Behesht, wich stragely enough, is situated very close to Salaam.
so, Salaam: ive give the food 9/10, but then id give 90% of Iranian restaurants in London a score less than 5. So you can be sure that the quality of food is almost as good as it will ever get in London. Some people prefer Behesht. Salaam's food is very similar to behesht, minus the excess oil, so if greasy kebab is your thing then go to behesht, but if you want kabab that reminds you of the best in Iran then Salaam is the best in London.
Location is.... well, the restaurant is out in the sticks, so not very convenient. Service is good, friendly staff, fast and efficient. The restaurant is huge and the use of light colours makes it look even bigger. but unfortunately, it seriously lacks character (it looks the exact opposite of Behesht). Have a look at their website, ull see what I mean.
so, if you are looking for a place just to eat good food then dont look elsewhere. But if you are looking atmosphere and entertainment, ull be very dissapointed.

THE BEST ... Persian restaurant I have ever been in London so far.
Lovely atmospher, very clean and indeed very good food .
The decoration is eye catching and it has a very relaxed inviroment.
I will recomend it to every one.
