Wow, what more can you ask for we have been hanging out at Red Rose for a couple years now. This place has it all usual dishes plus more that you would expect, traditional decor with great friendly helpful staff, specially the manager... ...lol

The food here is fantastic! never ever have I had Indian food like this and i've been eating it for a little while

the menu is simple and very tasty, so is the food. I had the king prawn bhoona... loved it

I can see why this place is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in London and not had to sell out. like so many other Indian eateries.

I didn't believe it was possible to make a curry as flavourless as the one I had the misfortune to eat this evening. I can say with confidence that this is the worst Indian I've ever had.

I have been dining and ordering food from the Red Rose for nearly a year now. I do not understand how they can deliver food of this quality, at this price in London. Thumbs up for me. The Prawn Sag is out of this world.

Ordered takeaways from the Red Rose tonight - claims to be the Best Indian in the UK, but honestly I think it was the worst Indian food I've ever had! Very disappointing.

I have heard good things about this restaurant so decided to visit with a group of friends . The design and decor of this traditional restaurant (light painted walls, starched white tablecloths framed paintings and photos of celebrity's that have visited the restaurant ) will set your pulse racing. as does the fiery food . The Red Rose celebrates cooking with a full varied menu. Expect delicious massalas, an abundance of curry dishes, and spicy-hot flavours that pack a punch. The chicken Bhoona is top-notch – rich and warming and full of flavour. Friendly staff warned us when we were ordering too much, but it was hard to believe portions would be so generous with prices so reasonable. All in all a great experience.

I have lived in Holloway Rd most of my life and sampled several of the Indian restaurants in the area. In my opinion the Red Rose is by far the best around and is my favourite place for a curry. The food is excellent in fact it has won several top awards. I can personally recommend the Chicken Tikka Jalfrezi which is exceptional. It has a traditional decor giving the place a nice atmosphere for dining which I prefer to the more modern types that seem to be prevalent at the moment. The only negative thing I can say about this restaurant is the food can take a bit long to arrive for takeaways this is because I have been told the food is cooked from fresh and therefore takes time to prepare.

Been passing the Red Rose as i go up and down Holloway Road on the bus. Finally decided to try it out. It has the kitsch feel of other London eccentric curry houses with mad signs - the one on Brick lane that has a picture of Prince Charles or the Indian Veg on Chapel Market with it's crazy signs about vegetarianism. In this case their big claims to fame seem to be The Darkness and ... Anne Widdecombe....!

It was Friday night and the place was empty...WHY? the we found out...

I LOVE a kitsch curry house for a cheap eat and so was happy with old-school interior, floral plates, pics of minor celebs on walls and in a great mood. Puppadoms and chutneys good. Then long wait for main course. Then one of the worse curries i've had in years - no flavour or effort whatsoever. tough meat in gloppy bland sauce with frozen peas, no corrainder or fresh herbs. barely edible. what a disappointment!

was expecting average curry house fair. but left feeling ripped off. Staff suddenly became really nice and enthusiastic as we left wanting us to take a takeaway menu.

If you want a cheap local curry experience Sitar up the road it not bad. At least they TRY.

This restaurant seems to rest on it's laurels on various celebrities that have visited over the years. We tried it on a Friday night & found it dissappointing. The main courses were oily, having been composed of little meat or chicken with copious amounts of onions. The 'ping' just before serving told us the starters were microwaved; they certainly tasted it.

The bill was illegible & after asking for a breakdown, we found we had been overcharged £4.70. Wont be going back.

This is possibly the worst Indian meal I have ever had. The delivery took an hour and a half to arrive and the staff were not very helpful or apologetic. The food was extremely bland and all the curries tasted the same. Avoid!!!
