Although we appreciated we hadn’t booked, but turned up at this restaurant at 8.30pm on a Saturday evening, we didn’t get our starter until 10.15pm, after one and three quarter hours; we were not offered any sort of compensation either for our wait. Our main course was not complete either and had to ask to take what we didn’t have off the bill at the end of the meal; we didn’t feel we could ask for our missing dish at the time our main meal was served because we didn’t get any waiting time at all from any of the staff: the ordering and the serving was very quick with minimal attention. None of the staff seemed to have any knowledge of their Italian menu either and couldn’t explain it, and the food was very, very mediocre for the price. On the whole the evening was tremendously disappointing as we were recommended to use Walthamstow Village: after this experience I can’t help but feel that the ‘Village’ experience is overrated.

Great little local pizzeria. Eat by candle light, enjoy good food at good prices & good service. Big thanks, especially to Malik, he always looks after you really well.

They do an amazing lunch time deal, any pizza or pasta for £5 from noon, right up until 5pm.

Fantastic.

Well done to the staff at Mondragone, who last night held the Ed Balls fundraising dinner. What a busy night for them, I think they did very well, they were rushed off their feet.

Special thanks to the lovely Marina, who seems to remember everything, she is an absolute credit to them.

Have been here a number of times now & will be going back. Very friendly service.

Pasta & pizza are really nice, there is a nice atmosphere, they have candles on the table & they are reasonable.

Oh yes, they now put real hanging baskets outside.

All in all good local pizzeria.

Been three times since they re-opened. Staff have been very nice and service generally good. Seem to be mostly Italians too which seems like a good thing.

Pizzas are really tasty. Very filling though so don't over do the starters. We've found a garlic pizza bread, a salad, and one pizza between two is more than enough.

Haven't had much else but the prices are reasonable and thee pizzas are better than the ones over the road in the Spar (although they are still pretty good).

I do agree with the comments about the atmosphere. A bit of lighting and candles could do wonders.

On a side note they seem to be family friendly - saw a high chair last time I was in.

All good otherwise, but went past the other day & they have put hanging baskets out with plastic flowers in.

Big no no, looks very tacky, especially in the Village, with all the lovely real flowers around & Village in bloom coming up.

Went to Mondragone again on Friday & I must take my hat of to them, for listening to what their customers want.

The lights have now been dimmed & they have candles on the table.

Enjoyed our pizza and pasta dishes & they are very reasonable.

Lovely!

I must admit, they do need to dim the lights, it is very bright & a little candle on the tables would make all the difference.

Food is good though & prices are lower than before.

Hopefully, they will get it sorted, after all, it is early days.

Why have they got the lights on full blast??? All they need to do is dim the lights and put a cheap tea-light on each table to make the place much more inviting. Hopefully this is just a teething problem as Mondragone has only just opened again.
